01/22/18 - Big Bend National Park, TX - HIKING IN THE CHISOS - Big Bend National Park is a big place. There are beautiful Rio Grande River canyons on both the east and west sides. In the middle are the Chisos Mountains towering over the rest of the park and for many, they are the main attraction. Today, we did the Lost Mine Trail which took us up to 7,500 feet - higher than most of the mountains around us. We didn’t mind the cool temperatures as it made for very comfortable hiking conditions. Here’s a pic of Jacque doing her Machu Picchu training. It looks to be going quite well, don’t you think?

Mexican Feathergrass has really caught fire in the commercial landscape industry, and for good reason. While a brilliant green in the spring and early summer, the color gives way to a golden hue that is quite attractive.
