One of the most unusual & fascinating films I have ever been blessed to experience (in all of my horror).
David Lynch was one of the Greatest artists of ALL TIME.
(My wife showed me this one; holy smokes - talk about high art)
One of the most powerful films I've ever seen (from a creative standpoint), while also being one of the most off-putting pictures I've experienced thus far.
Patricia Arquette is highly provocative & dangerous in this film. DEFINITELY for mature audiences (with a strong stomach for the macabre). Bill Pullman does some of his greatest work in this flick.
A true tour de force of a picture. A film that works as an exposé on the dark underbelly of high society (and the entertainment industry) while also being a truly surreal cinematic experience that explores the darkness and the possibilities within the realm of the afterlife).
"Lost Highway" has some of the most impressive visual techniques on display in film and was CLEARLY A SIGNIFICANT INFLUENCE for the film, "Eyes Wide Shut"; while also drawing inspiration from Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" (respectively).
Highly recommended for people who love TRUE ART.
10 OUT OF 10 STARS
I miss you, David Lynch!
Post Script: John Carpenter's "In The Mouth of Madness" seems like it was Totally an influence on this movie, too (I was watchin' it the other day and noticed the sequence on the highway [to start]). I'll let ya know if I see anything else.
