as someone whose favorite lost ship is skate i actually love the idea of them being star-crossed lovers doomed to not end together, i obviously do understand people that get upset that they’re not endgame but endgame it’s not something important for me to like a ship and depending on how it’s done it would probably bore me a little lol

lost au but it’s the part where two people live in the hatch, which is essentially an underground bunker furnished like an apartment from the 70s, for multiple years. both of you end up here, years apart, a shipwreck, a helicopter crash, whatever. and you aren’t trapped, not underground at least, you can leave, but there’s a button you need to press every 108 minutes and weird orientation tapes telling you if you don’t, the world will end in a violent explosion, and you are held captive by your own fear. and its just two of you, alone, for years, taking turns, pressing the button, cooking together, building a life, exploring each other’s bodies, rarely venturing out into the island surrounding you. and in the back of your mind you remember a life before this, people you loved, before you crashed here and ended up in this cycle, of pressing a button with the hope you are saving the world. but you never know for sure. until one day, the other person leaves you, dies on you, and you miss an input and the ground shakes and a plane crashes and you panic, hole yourself up underground and promise to never leave. and you never know there are other people here, barely understand that you’ve been gone for 3 years. until someone opens the door and shouts down, looking for answers but finding you. after all that time alone. after you thought you were the only one for hundreds of miles, after you resigned yourself of doing this alone until you died, there are people. they are banging on the door, blasting it open with dynamite, coming in and speaking to you. and you’re hostile, a little crazy, from the solitude, the lack of sleep, the monotony, the not knowing what is real. but who wouldn’t be?
