I'm not sure if I like The Departure or Lumière more, but this was the one that made it in today, so... I think my brain has chosen. I am not denying the catchiness of Lumière, no no no, in fact, it pops up in my head randomly at least a month and I sing it a ton, too. I may write about it too here some day, it also deserves a post.

Fun fact: I know the succession of notes of The Departure better than the lyrics themselves, I usually sing the notes when singing along with the song. Behold my insane ramblings (note that some notes are incorrect, this is all done by ear):

And no, I have never played the game nor I really have any intention to. It's not a type of game I'd enjoy due to its genre and gameplay, but I can still appreciate its amazing artistry from afar.

Also, note that if you want to search up the lyrics, I believe there are spoilers about the game's narrative in them. Not sure in this case, but there's a very famous case of major spoilers being included in "unusual French" in another song of the OST. I sometimes wonder if French people were spoiled when hearing it in-game, but from what I know the wording is extremely unusual.

also yes, horn trio!! i added a third part! it was really fun messing around with harmonies and thickening some of the chords. i'm pretty inexperienced overall with composing but im really trying to improve and its so so fun for me! if i come out with any bangers ill post em here too. anyway, go check it out!
