Fandom: A Song of Ice and Fire & Related Fandoms, A Song of Ice and Fire - George R. R. Martin, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (TV) Relationships: Renly Baratheon/Loras Tyrell, Lyonel Baratheon/Dunk | Duncan the Tall Additional Tags: In which Renly finds Dunk and Lyonel's old letters and discovers that he was not the first queer Baratheon, Quasi-epistolary but not entirely, Dunk and Lyonel are not technically in this but their presence is inextricable from it, The love didn't change anything but it was there, Queer solidarity across the generations, Grief/Mourning, ASOIAF bookverse but AKOTSK showverse, implied canon-typical homophobia Summary: It’s a small enough thing, the Baratheon stag engraved into the lid. It had perhaps been locked once, but the salty sea air of Storm’s End softens most wood after enough years, and the latch tears clean out when he gives it a good pull. Old too, then. Inside is another bundle of parchment, neatly folded and tied with fraying twine.
More damned papers, he thinks for a disappointed moment, nearly shutting it again- what a waste this whole venture had been. But these do not look like more records. There is something personal in how they have been handled and hidden away, and Renly begins picking at the twine with curious fingers. When it falls away, he unfolds the first sheet, and finds a letter.
Milord Lyonel, it begins.
[Renly Baratheon, young and full of confusing feelings, discovers that he may not be as alone as he believes.] --- Holy shit I finished my first asoiaf/akotsk thing! Not the 30 year situationship fic yet, but hopefully this will still be of interest <3 I love this kind of subgenre of thing and have always wanted to take a stab at one.

ref:
But Renly and Loras couldn't have this.
Renly couldn't give Loras his cloak, or have Loras place a green-and-gold cloak over his shoulders either. Renly couldn't leave a family he loathed behind, and take the surname of the man he loved. They couldn't show their love for all to see, couldn't challenge the world and emerge victorious. The one who comes between them won't be cursed. The rainbow light won't fall down upon them. They won't be considered one flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever.
But.
Is it a coincidence, that Renly always wears—wore, sorry haha— green. Like in EVERY SINGLE FUCKING SCENE, he's in green and gold. His tunic. His doublet. His half-cape. His armour of coloured steel.
Not yellow. Not black.
Green and gold.
Who Crashes Out Harder?
Robert Baratheon if Ned dies
Davos Seaworth if Stannis dies
Loras Tyrell when Renly dies

Came across your snowstorm and rhaenyra aesthetics and i love them!! Could i request (no pressure though) a Renly x Loras one? :) (preferably based on the books but whatever is easier for you!) Thanks so much! <3
Loras Tyrell x Renly Baratheon. Requested by anon.
they exist only in this drawing and nothing bad ever happens to them actually
This is slightly confusing but I tried to make it make sense.
I find it very interesting how people react to shippers based on what they themselves think is the meaning of shipping. For me personally, it's a spectrum from finding a non-romantic relationship entertaining up to thinking the shipped people are soulmates.
What does shipping mean to you? 😄
