The prompts will open on May 30th on AO3. We suggest you check out the prompts and claim the one(s) you're interested in HERE.

General Rules:

All works must be original to the fest

No crossovers

Please tag your works appropriately

Written entries must be at least 300 words

Art submissions do not need a description but are always welcome

One-shots, two-shots, and multi chapters are acceptable

NO WIPs

Works will be revealed on September 1st. After your work is revealed feel free to link any social media

How do we do this?

Firstly, you will need to have an AO3 account. Please check out the prompts here.

When you know what prompt you want, click the "claim" button on that prompt.

Get creating!

Participants are encouraged to claim more than one prompt and create multiple works for the fest. However, it is strongly advised to finish one before you claim more.😘

****Please remember the Important Dates!! We'll post little reminders but we will not be doing a traditional check in of emailing/contacting everyone individually.****

What content can I create?

Fanfic of at least 300 words, Art, Moodboards, Socmeds, Fanvids, etc.

Is there a sign up form?

No forms. You only need to claim a prompt on AO3 to participate (and you do not need to sign up to the AO3 collection either).

Is there a check in?

We will post reminders on Tumblr and Twitter, but there will be no check in on the progress. We look forward to see what you all create!

Will there be a Timeless Secret Santa Exchange later this year?

We're attempting a different approach this year and doing this Fest instead. However, if you feel inspired to create something Christmassy by the end of the year, you're welcome to join the fest at a later date and use the prompts. We even have a couple that might work for a holiday theme.🤪

In 2023, Lucy wrote a letter for Flynn, making a decision to save his family in 2014. They need Flynn to defeat Rittenhouse, and Flynn deserves to keep his family.

It was what Lucy should have done the first time around. She got Amy back, so why shouldn't Flynn get to keep his family?

That he was only half-awake at the time.

You know when you have one of those unsettling dreams that leave you rattled all day? You're already awake, you can logically analise it and poke holes in the dream's logic (or lack thereof), you can reassure yourself with proof, tangible things and you're still jittery. Even if you're not thinking about it, because your subconscious mind is still unsettled, it doesn't matter that your conscious mind already put it to rest, the unease is still lurking.

Garcia Flynn was deeply asleep, even with his military and professional background, he was feeling secure in bed with his wife, deep enough asleep he didn't register the cough / sound that led Lorena into their daughter's room. He was likely sinking back into sleep after Lorena's words when he's suddenly jolted by the sound of his wife and daughter's murders.

And then there he is. Wearing only his pajamas and his wedding ring, probably barefoot, maybe a gun in hand, fighting the intruders enough to barely make it out alive. Panic, grief, adrenaline, helplesness, instinct... the things fueling him against the remnants of sleep in his fight for survival despite the futility in terms of getting to his family.

Even having managed to fight his way out he still wouldn't have been able to go and stay with his wife and child for a while, whether they had already passed or not. He didn't get to cradle their bodies one last time, to hold their hands... He didn't get to tell Iris that despite the fact that he wasn't able to protect her as he had promised her, he was there and she didn't need to be afraid because everything would be over soon and he'd be there with her through it. That he was sorry and that he loved them.

He had to flee because they wanted him dead too and he had to have been injured fighting off the team sent by Rittenhouse. A team that would have been well awake and wearing protective gear. All of this when a few minutes before he was in bed blissfully asleep.

I had fun practicing my art skills again! The Flynn family: Garcia, Lorena & Iris were not treated well in Timeless canon, to say the least, but their memory and existence matter so much in the story we saw. This is a portrait of happier times.

This drawing is made with Jaycee (aka RedGold or @timelesshonesttrailer) in mind who loves the Flynns and wrote my favourite headcanons about Lorena Flynn. Her series Team Flynn is wonderful & poignant & I love it.

There are not nearly enough fanfic stories where Lorena & Iris live, but she's been working hard to fill that void. Thanks to all the fanfic writers who imagine better futures for them ❤️. I love reading it.
