So I've been thinking about comparing Malevolent's gods to the lovecraftian horrors of our world, and that is giant space bodies.
Let me explain. The King in yellow (and other similar outer gods) is like a star. Great and massive and entire systems orbit around him and to a human being he is too much to think about (like trying to think about how big the sun is compared to you). However, still understandable. We can understand a star, understand our sun. (I guess this would make Yellow and John like Saturn and Jupiter)
Then next up in this cosmic powerscaling would be Lilith, now to me she would be like a Neutron Star or Stellar-mass Black Hole. Power well beyond the king. Going into mind bending physics and gravity. Maybe even with the potential to be something even bigger and scarier with enough time and accumulation of power.
Then there is Nyarlathotep (the Manager). He is a Supermassive Black Hole. Entire galaxies orbit around him, infinitely horrifying and destructive, and yet holding together so much just by existing. Barely able to observe him, and certainly not his real body. Doesn't stop him being so cosmically mind breaking.
Finally, Kayne is a Rogue supermassive black hole. A giant black hole not bound to any galaxy, roaming through the universe, eating and destroying anything it encounters. Adding to his monsterous gravity. Only knowable from the radiation released from what he destroys. Consuming and ripping apart reality from the sheer weight of him.
And Arthur is the one ordinary human who has survived all of it and even has enough gravity to pull them in.
