LOOTERA (2013)
hello , i saw your series 'that's so niche' 😍 it is so owsmmm..by the way which are ur fav bollywood movies? n one more thing i love the way how u layout everything😍😍
Arre yaar, aapne toh mujhe shy hi kar diya 🥰. But srsly, why is everyone on here sweeter than gud. And layout ke naam pe I just scroll Pinterest but thanks, that's incredibly sweet of u meri jaan.
Coming to the actual ques; there's honestly sooo many, I'm sure I'll miss some, but here goes
First up, obvio, Fitoor and Lootera (can u tell I have a penchant for tragedy). I also love star-crossed stories so there's Mirzya and Laila Majnu. Mard ko dard nahi hota is pretty much the only action movie I really adore and it's from the very under-utilised genre of action-comedy. I really like Raabta, although it's not my absolute fav. Qala is obviously incredible (I love Tripti Dimri, she's an incredible actor). Monsoon wedding is pretty awesome too. I loooved Highway (Randeep is my shayla).
Some other films that I loved but are not in like the top tier are Queen (it's genuinely so funny), ZNMD and Dil dhadakne do. Wait, I just realised a lot of the stuff I like are flops. Huh, I don't know what to make of that. More material for my "That's so niche" I suppose.
But, obviously, I do have a never-ending watchlist, so there r tonnes of movies I haven't watched yet. Either way, tysm for this, it was so much fun 😍
Edit- Manorama 6 ft under is not my fav but it’s a pretty good mystery if anyone’s interested.
Edit 2.0- 2 action films I really like actually are A Gentleman and Dishoom (AK 🤭). They both are kinda funny and slick with no gore so I like them.
I’ve got to say, Ranveer Singh is finally getting the respect and recognition he deserves. From Day 1, I knew this man was going to change the face of Bollywood. He throws his heart and soul into every character he plays, and honestly, I can’t think of a single film where he failed in the acting department.
There was a phase when his films didn’t do well commercially — like Jayeshbhai Jordaar, 83, and Cirkus — but even then, his performances were solid. I kept rooting for him when people started criticising everything from his films to his fashion sense. And honestly, let the man wear whatever he wants. At least he has the confidence to be unapologetically himself, which is more than many of us can say.
Just look at the versatility in the roles he’s done: Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat, Kapil Dev in 83, Ram Rajadi in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Varun in Lootera, Jayesh in Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Bajirao in Bajirao Mastani, Rocky Randhawa in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Hamza in Dhurandhar and Murad in Gully Boy. Each one is completely different, and he nailed every single one. AND DAMN, the way he dances... Khalibali, Tattad Tattad, Malhari and literally every dance he's done.
I’ll say this and stand by it — no one in Bollywood today acts with the same intensity and commitment that Ranveer Singh brings to his roles. Even legends like Shah Rukh Khan — and yes, I know that’s a bold claim — don’t transform into characters the way he does.
BEST ACTOR IN BOLLYWOOD. PERIODT.
