the thing about alex ward that definitely adds to his vibe as an actor given how many undead characters he plays but is also impossible to ignore once you've noticed it, is this man blinks on average like once every 40 seconds
#it's super fun for occtis bc even before he died while not having sorcerous magic#he DOES have the shadow sorcerer trait that the book so comedically describes as “you blinked. once. last week.”#but yeah no like. i timed him occasionally when watching la by night for the first time#and there are definitely some points where jasper goes a full minute without blinking#(i don't wear contacts bc they freak me out so i don't actually know if the coloured contacts are helping or hindering there)#but this post was triggered by rewatching the cold open for yesterday's episode bc fun character interactions#and watching the clock as occtis goes a 43 second stretch without blinking followed by one blink followed by another 38 seconds of stare#im sure this skill is highly beneficial to his work as a professional monster but also alex what the hell man#cr spoilers#loosely#occtis tachonis#jasper heartwood
