The Huntsman would have avoided humans before, he'd only trusted one human in his adult life, and while he didn't regret helping Snow White, he had lost his heart and his freedom for her.

But Graham was the sheriff of Storybrooke, helping people was his job. Helping the people who had come through a random portal was part of his job.

Helping the woman stand, he pulled a twig out of her hair, David was searching for other victims, while Emma was driving ahead to warn the hospital.

This gave Graham a chance to figure out what the hell was happening.

"Hello," Jim greets softly, eyes squinting against the sun as Maeve approaches him.

This routine of theirs hadn't started with any real intent. First had come the flowers, pure chance guiding them together on a hike. The next shore leave had been similar, though maybe a touch more deliberate. Knowing he had an afternoon to himself, Jim had asked after Maeve's plans and if there were any similar fascinating sights. From there, he'd been sure to make sure he had some time carved out for her and their calm adventures.

It had taken a matter of seconds to turn what had been a relatively by-the-numbers robbery into something that would later cause annoyance if not addressed now. The bright glow of a phone screen as it was hastily stowed away provided the crucial clue, hooking at the Spider's attention in a way that saw his curve sharply, garnet gaze glaring hot daggers of annoyance in the perpetrator’s direction.

"I really wish you hadn't done that." Speaking in a tone that was filled with disappoint, he could predict the sequence of events that would happen next, should her attempt to call for outside help be successful. In no less than 10 minutes time, tyres will be screeching to a halt outside, followed by elevated voices shouting orders at each other as a perimeter was established. Not exactly his idea of a smooth exit, but he remained convinced that he still had a chance to slip away.
