The idea is that her species is called by the localized name of βStardiansβ (Star + Guardian pun). Thatβs just what Earth calls it though. Thereβs likely other names to call them by. Sometimes they get sent down to fall to earth like falling stars to seek out a certain individual theyβre signed up to protect for a certain about of time from a potential disaster. Something like that. They donβt have to return to the stars immediately or at all if they decide they like it there. Thereβs some free will to their task.
In various occasions they might go into a specific larger form. Most are longbody forms. Thereβs potentially some with other types of forms but not sure yet. Emmylouβs a pretty standard example.
