Ok so, imagine a future loosely based on japanese feudal society where guns and firearms in general have been destroyed and people train in martial art. Now imagine that this place, called the badlands, is run by 7 different barons, all controlling a very specific portion of the economy and all struggling to keep the balance in this very unstable world. NOW IMAGINE THE PROTAGONIST, THE AMAZING DANIEL WU, AN ASIAN LEADING MAN WHO’S NOT STEREOTYPED IN ANY WAY being part of the clippers, trained soldiers whose only reason for living is the protection of their barons and his interests, trying to protect the person he loves most in the world (AN AWESOME DOCTOR WHO BUILDS ROBOTIC ARMS/LEGS FOR A LIVING!!!) and dealing with what it means to be loyal to someone when you don’t really agree with what he asks you to do. NOW IMAGINE THERE’S A BOY, WITH FREAKY POWERS, A BOY THAT COMES FROM A PLACE YOU SORT OF KNOW, A BOY WHO TELLS YOU THERE’S A WAY OUT???? OF THE AWFUL PLACE THAT ARE THE BADLANDS?? ??? WHAT WILL OUR AMAZING LEADING MAN DO? ? also imagine incredibly well choreographed fight scenes that will literally make u wanna rewind them at least 10 times, super morally grey characters, a main cast WITH MORE LEADING WOMEN THAN MEN, a resentful son, neglected by his father, desperate to prove himself, a fierce lady who vowed to protect all them young girls so no man could ever hurt them again, beautiful cinematography, daniel wu, did I mention INCREDIBLE FIGHT SCENES???? oh, and swords. (and daniel wu)
In a shocking turn of events, Gotham \o/ I also almost spelled it Qotham.

my beautiful cinnamon roll too good for this world fave: HOW CAN YOU EVEN ASK, BABY BRUCE WAYNE IS A CINNAMON ROLL IF I’VE EVER SEEN ONE, HE’S JUST TOO CUTE AND SO PRECIOUS, and also so very relatable idk how often I’ve already told myself I’d get fit and given up after about three days
my trash-shit fave: tbh I don’t think one can get any more trash-shit than Jerome Valeska, he has literally no morals, no self-preservation instinct, no scruples, but he’s just so damn watchable! but I really liked Jason Lennon, too, he was Christian Grey if he was murderous, actually attractive and more interesting that a pebble
my I love to hate them fave: Tabitha Galavan really owns her villainess name, she’s so elegantly evil and aCTUALLY PROVES THAT SHE’S JUST AS GOOD AS VICTOR ZSASZ I’m actually kind of impressed
my I hate to love them fave: I don’t think Victor Zsasz has ever been on screen and not killed at least one person, but he’s just so delightful to watch and Anthony Carrigan has such a charm to him, I know rationally I should hate him, but nope, he’s a tiny murder cupcake that I want to see a lot more
my I wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire non-fave: I’d say the Pike brothers, who literally enslaved their half-sister and abused her all her life, but since she then actually lit them on fire and nobody took the time to piss on them, I’m okay on that
my I didn’t care about them either way at first but the fandom makes such a big deal about them now I can’t stand them non-fave: I should put Jerome Valeska on here, because the fandom is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overblowing him, but the performance is so damn good that I’m just going to overlook it
my I could take them or leave them kinda non-fave: Barbara Kean, which sucks, because I actually started to like her when she went nuts and seemed to go irrational, but then her motivation got changed back to revenge on Jim/the scorned lover trope/bitching to Lee Thompkins, and now she’s kinda meh again
my I will go down with this ship and I won’t put my hands up and surrender, there will be no white flag above my door. I’m in love and always will be fave ship: come oooon, Selina and Bruce are just so darn cuuuute together I just can’t help it, there is so much honest emotion in their relationship, it’s about first kisses and first heartbreak and different world views and different upbringings and still having things in common, how can I not??
my dirtybadwrong fave ship: nah, everybody has this tiny little weak spot for Nygma/Cobblepot ever since they met
my they’re cute together and I dig them but I’m not all that terribly invested kinda fave ship: Bridgit x Selina, they were so damn sweet and caring about each other, but I won’t go and read up on them, and also Lee x Jim, they do have their adorable moments
my I didn’t care about this ship either way at first but the fandom makes such a big deal about it now I can’t stand it non-fave ship: Jim/Oswald just doesn’t strike a cord with me, I mean, I see where it’s coming from, but it’s just not my cup of tea (I’m still looking forward to next week though)
my MAKE IT STOP non-fave ship: Barbara x Jim, I knoooooooooooooooooooow they are canon in the comics, but I hate how he is her whole evil motivation, and how it’s all the crazy jealous girlfriend going after her ex ugh

I don’t think I would call this show ‘wonderful’, it has oh so many problems plus there is so much death and torture and manipulation and corruption going on in the show itself, but I do enjoy it still.
