#lomochrome

Back in 2023, I reviewed Lomography's LomoChrome Metropolis, a film known for its muted colours and "urban" look. So it was due to test some other "experimental" film by Lomography. Nex ton my list was LomoChrome Turquoise. I chose medium format to a) have the real analog feel to it and b) to give fair asessment of the films character based on larger negatives and scans.

What this film does is to shift(or switch?) colours dramatically: a blue sky appears orange (as does blue jeans or traffic signs), green tones become a bit cooler, red becomes blue, caucasian skintones change to blue (hello people from Na'Vi) and yellow turns to turquoise, hence the name of the film.

I can easily understand that some people don't like this, especially the blue skin is not flattering in general. I liked my results quite a lot, though, and the roll left in the fridge will be used sooner than later. Sharpness is good, grain - in medium format at least - not bothering at all, while contrast is pretty normal.

If you are open to experiment a bit, LomoChrome Turquoise is certainly a good choice. It is about having fun, either turning your friends and family into smurflike creatures or just to see the world differently.
