I gave a weird amount of lore and plot to this AU I don't think I'll actually do anything with. That could change though, so could the designs.
Lore and story summary below!
This takes place in a steampunk timeline where robots exist and are specifically made to fulfill purposes/for servitude.
Tenna was made specifically for entertainment. He actually used to just be a TV until Asriel (who is practicing to become a "toymaker," aka this universe's title for guys who make robots,) made Tenna into a full on robot as a gift to Kris.
Androids have souls, although they're artificial (so society sucks about it,) which means they get an afterlife!
A variety of factors determine which realm (dark worlds are android afterlifes) you get sent to, such as: what they were made for (dark worlds based solely on this can be traversed,) and what kind of life they lived.
Androids aren't supposed to fall in love. Tenna and a mysterious individual get into a relationship. Based on the AU, you could have guessed that Tenna gets murdered. (And the reasons are actually different from the movie!)
Spamton, a human, is arranged to marry someone (the specifics aren't important, read the tags for more on that.) He doesn't want to get married, more focused on chasing that bag, but, due to some debts, is getting set up with a spouse anyway!
After he purposefully botches the wedding rehearsal, he storms off into the woods and mockingly does his vows (because he's dramatic.) The ring gets put on Tenna's corpse, which never got found.
Tenna sees the display and thinks it's genuine because he's lonely. He also assumes (hopes) that this stranger knows him or the family and is going to save him (gay and delusional.)
Plot happens and Spamton wakes up in a dark world. He's freaked out because he thinks he's dead. He only gets more freaked out when he realizes it's an afterlife for androids and not humans.
This leads to some existentialism. Spamton briefly wonders if he's an android, because how else would he end up here? Then he comes to the conclusion that he pissed off God by ruining the rehearsal, and that he needs to make it up to them to get either back to life or his correct afterlife.
So, despite the fact that he doesn't want to marry the person, he says that he needs to get back to his life/get things sorted.
Tenna does the whole "but we're engaged :D" thing. Androids aren't supposed to get engaged so he doesn't really have a full or realistic picture of what that entails. He's seen stuff on TV though so surely that's accurate.
Tenna keeps doing sweet and grand gestures to show Spamton his affection. After all, surely Spamton wants to marry him because he literally proposed, and so genuinely too!
Spamton keeps tiptoeing around the fact that he didn't actually mean to propose to Tenna, because he's scared that the afterlife residents may turn on him or he may get stuck there.
They spend a bunch of time together as Spamton gets more and more frustrated and less and less scared. He has a god to appease and this is a waste of time!
The wedding isn't meant to happen for a few months (around 5 or 6 maybe) because plot so insert some excuse here. (I also don't know how engagements work.)
Meanwhile, Spamton lives in Tenna's spooky little ghost house. He lets Spamton have the bed and he sleeps on the couch, because it's indecent to sleep together before marriage, and also Spamton seems nervous so he's gonna give him some space. (Based kidnapper moment.)
About a month and a half in, Spamton has fully mapped out a plan to get home and run away. Spamton does the whole "don't you want to meet my parents?" thing, and he promises they're sooo cool about androids and would definitely support their relationship.
Tenna is a little hesitant because, you know, the whole android thing. But with some persuasion (and manipulation but, let's be honest, given the circumstances, it's understandable,) Tenna is very excited and a little nervous to meet his husband to he's parents.
So they get Ramb to send them to the overworld/back to life. Yay! This can only go well.
Spamton wants to get things rolling but Tenna says that maybe they should spend some romantic time in the overworld, for nostalgia and also to connect more with Spamton in a space where he's more comfortable.
Spamton doesn't want to seem suspicious so he says this eras version of "sure, whatever."
They actually end up having a great time. They banter, dance around the woods, and the piano scene happens in an abandoned church.
In the abandoned church, after they had the sweet piano moment, Tenna decides now is a good time to get vulnerable. He tells Spamton he's really glad he met him and he's having a wonderful time getting to know him.
Spamton is like "Pog. You're not so bad yourself." (Okay, he doesn't say it like that.)
Tenna tells Spamton that it's been so long since he's been to the overworld. He laments that he misses his family and he wonders how they're doing (not that much time has passed but it seems longer because time works different in the afterlife.)
Spamton says he misses his family too. (He's an orphan and lied about the whole parents thing.) He says this, in part, to tug at Tenna's heart strings a little, so he might be more inclined to let him stay if things go south. (He leaves out the orphan part for obvious reasons.) But, he also is a little genuine about it and does miss his parents and brothers.
Tenna comforts Spamton. Spamton isn't used to that, so he's a little awkward, but he isn't opposed.
After some more sweet moments and banter, Spamton decides it's time to get the show on the road (probably before he second guesses.)
The plan didn't go well. Spamton actually almost gets away and gets hidden because he planned pretty damn thoroughly. But, he didn't account for the fact that maybe he wouldn't be greeted with open arms.
He had assumed that people would be worried that he'd been missing. And, yeah, some people were but a lot of people assumed he'd run away and abandoned his duties (and also was being unfaithful because people saw him with another person the night he ran away.)
Tenna catches him and is actually devastated. But this is where the plot gets different! Tenna actually doesn't grab Spamton and drag him back. Tenna actually (drum roll please!)... Runs away!
Surprise! Tenna actually runs away. Spamton is like "thank god" because he's free from his ghost kidnapper.
Spamton says it's time to get this wedding back on. The betrothed's family is like "you're lucky we haven't found a replacement yet."
So, Spamton gets ready to marry someone he doesn't want to. Fun! But he also is free from the scary ghost dimension he didn't belong in.
Meanwhile, Tenna is in the woods reminiscing on his depressing ass life and afterlife. After a devastated cry and wail in the woods, where his ghostly tears cause a small fire, he goes back to his afterlife without a groom.
Elninia and Laninio try to comfort him and give him some romantic advice. That doesn't work. Then Ramb gives him some hard truths about Tenna needing to move on and be his own person, something he was never given the opportunity to do when he was alive, and now he can.
Ramb tells him he needs to let go of the past and let himself grow. (A missed opportunity for me to not have put the flowers and veil on Tenna. Damn it. I could've made them symbolic too, but I'm not going back rn. Maybe a redesign will come.)
Deep thoughts, Ramb, but Tenna has to sulk some more. He's also literally traumatized from being betrayed and murdered (among other things that aren't plot relevant,) so there's that.
Tenna's ghost tears fester over the next few days and end up making a big fire. Spamton is blamed for this, because he disappeared for two months and suddenly there's a fire when he comes back. Also he was acting super suspicious (and understandably salty because no one was asking if he was okay.)
Spamton gets thrown in jail.
A guy from the town dies and talks about how some douchebag from the other side almost burned the woods down. There was a LOT of damage. He says that this guy pissed off the rich family one too many times and is probably gonna get some horrible punishment.
Tenna overhears this. He knows it's Spamton because it all lines up. He doesn't want Spamton to face a punishment for something he did, as hurt as he is by the "betrayal."
Tenna comes back to the living world and saves Spamton. Unfortunately, he causes a ruckus because he doesn't know how to break someone out of jail. The guards find out ghosts are real via the corpse groom either metaphorically or literally setting the place on fire.
Spamton is surprised Tenna is there. Tenna saves him and they run. Spamton was going to flee but there are guards looking for him because he, supposedly, caused even more damage.
In the rich/betrothed family's eyes: Spamton ran away/humiliated them, set fire to the woods and almost burned it all down, and now he's somehow torn up the jail and traumatized the guards. Also they think he might've drugged the guards or something to make them hallucinate. (They're giving him too much credit.)
So Tenna brings Spamton back to the afterlife. Tenna is upset with him. Spamton decides that since Tenna saved him, he should be honest. He tells Tenna that the proposal was an accident.
This upsets Tenna even more so Spamton decides to keep talking lmao. Spamton explains that he has some deals going and he's scared he's broken them by running away from his responsibilities.
He decides to accidentally be vulnerable and tells Tenna he's worried (scared) he's already ruined the attachments he had and now his life is over. People think he's a criminal and are on the lookout for him, he doesn't even know why, and his deals are more than likely severed.
Tenna admits that he caused the fire but it was an accident. He says honestly that he didn't know his tears would ignite (because he hasn't been to the overworld since he died.) Spamton gets pissed. A big argument ensues. Spamton storms off. Tenna locks himself in his room. They both sulk.
Tenna let's Spamton stay but makes him sleep on the couch.
Spamton and Tenna spend more time together. As the months pass, they grow closer. They get vulnerable and have more nice moments. They get to know each other and have surprisingly healthy ups and downs. Oddly enough, mostly ups.
A nice little slow burn happens. Eventually they forgive each other, Spamton being the last to do so.
About two weeks before the wedding was supposed to happen (it's been a while, and also death time works differently so it's been like 8 or 9 months to the dead guys,) Tenna laments how he wants to go to the starlight.
Spamton asks what that means. He's only heard people mention it but no one really addresses it. Tenna explains that if you're content with yourself and/or have made up for your misdeeds, you can choose to stay in an afterlife or you choose starlight, which is non-existence.
Spamton is concerned. Tenna assures him that it's a perfectly normal thing to want. (Very few android souls go through with it.)
Tenna had no intention of guilting Spamton with this. It just felt like a relevant thing to tell his friend and the person he's sharing a home with.
Spamton pretends not to be too concerned and asks Tenna what's holding him back. Tenna pauses and glances at him. He then tells Spamton his tragic backstory, specifically the part where he always longed for love and once he got it, he was murdered before it could become "official."
He says he should have never dreamed that he could get married. He should have known it wasn't possible. He's an android. Actually, he's not even that. He's just a TV.
Spamton says that's bullshit and that Tenna is just as capable and deserving of love as anyone else. He decides to give a dramatic but genuine speech about how he misjudged Tenna, actually has been having a great time with him, and it's been a pleasure getting to know him.
Tenna is surprised and moved by this. He tells Spamton he feels the same and it's been an honor getting to know him, and also to see him grow.
Spamton asks what he means. Tenna says he's very proud of how far Spamton has come, opening up and being more genuine. He also seems happier, which makes Tenna happy.
Spamton has a moment, because he has been told for so long that he's incapable of changing for the better or changing at all, depending on the person saying it.
He says to give him some time and goes on a walk to do some self reflection. A couple hours later, Tenna finds him sitting on a bench, staring out past some dramatic scenery.
It's quiet. Tenna does the whole "room for one more?" thing. Spamton pats the seat next to him. They sit in silence for a bit. Tenna comments how beautiful the scenery is because he's awkward, and yeah, it is beautiful.
When there's no response, he asks Spamton if he's okay.
Over the time they've known each other, they both did self reflection. Tenna realized his wrongdoings and, you know, apologized. He even offered to find a different place for Spamton to stay (which made Spamton mad at the time because he misread him.)
Tenna apologizes and says he hopes he didn't overstep (again.) Spamton says it's okay and then goes quiet again.
After a while, Tenna decides to give him some space. He gets up to leave but Spamton grabs his hand. Tenna looks at him. Their gazes meet (Spamton can tell despite Tenna's lack of eyes. A win for the gaze.)
Spamton asks him if he wants to get married.
Tenna gets nervous and asks if this is another accident. Spamton says no and asks again. Tenna tells Spamton that he doesn't have to marry him and it's okay if he doesn't want to. He also makes a half joke about how it might not be a good idea to marry his kidnapper.
Spamton says he wants to marry him. Tenna demands to know if Spamton is sure, for both their sakes. Spamton says "absolutely."
Tenna says he would love to marry Spamton.
They get engaged. Whoo!
The whole "but death already did you part" thing happens. So Spamton has to die for them to get married.
Spamton toils over this for a while. Sure, he's already lost his afterlife and his home, but acknowledging it in this way/agreeing to something permanent, makes it more real.
He considers running away or asking Tenna to help him escape again. Then he reflects on the time they spent together and decides it's worth it. (Then Tenna does something nice to make him feel better, unknowingly cementing this even further.)
Tenna and Spamton go to the living world to get married because Spamton can't die in the afterlife. They go to the church because they're dramatic. For plot reasons, it's the same day as the human wedding.
They barge in on the human wedding. Tenna comes face to face with his murderers (plural.) Plot twist, the rich family actually got Tenna killed because Tenna was going to run off with one of them.
Tenna and this person were never open about their relationship but the family was skeptical, Tenna was affectionate, and they could tell. They found out about this person's plans to flee with Tenna and had Tenna killed.
This isn't revealed but it's implied. Tenna figures it out. Tenna's ex either knows but is in denial or redesigned that his family sucks and his lover is dead.
Some people are freaked out about the dead people surrounding them, while others recognize their dead androids and assume they're back for revenge. Because of this, the humans are ready to escalate things. So they do. A huge fight breaks out.
In the chaos, Spamton and Tenna get separated. Tenna casts a glance of betrayal to his ex fiance before running to find Spamton.
Some rich guys corner Spamton because they're still blaming this on him. Tenna fights his way to him but it takes a second so Spamton gets beat up pretty damn bad.
Tenna saves him. He is thankful for the rescue but is also impressed that Tenna is setting people on fire for him. He also thinks Tenna is very beautiful, kind of like a candle in the dark. (He's lost his mind. /Ref)
Fortunately, no weapons seem to do any real harm to the undead. Unfortunately...
While protecting Spamton, Tenna gets stabbed by the same weapon that killed him. Since dead people aren't supposed to be in the living world, they shouldn't be able to come into contact with what killed them.
Upon being stabbed, Tenna starts disintegrating. It looks like burning paper, how parts of him slowly fall off and burn away. It's very pretty imagery but horrible to witness.
Tenna and all the undead look scared because none of them except Ramb know what's happening. Ramb is horrified. From the undead's expressions, it's clear to Spamton that this isn't what starlight is.
While everyone is distracted, Tenna runs from the church with Spamton in tow. Tenna grabbed him for the second time they've known each other, the first being to bring him to the afterlife.
After Tenna ensures Spamton's safety, he looks at him with a teary screen and smiles at him. He thanks Spamton for giving him a chance to experience what love was like and what it was like to feel alive.
Spamton keeps trying to interrupt his speech because he doesn't want whatever this is to happen. It looks painful and he can tell it isn't good.
Despite not knowing his own fate, Tenna knows for certain that it's too late. He says that he loves Spamton before he burns away entirely.
Spamton is left with the cold, the only warmth being the few burning embers left behind. In mounting horror, he watches the lights that look like little stars on the ground, fade out. It's silent and it's dark. And he's alone.
There's this intrulogical idea I have except I'm not an author and drawing is hard these days but I gotta get it out somehow
Remus, after witnessing Logan's outburst in WTIT, out of impulse offers to be Logan's punching back /sexual, since he has no healthy outlet to let out all that anger anyway
Logan reluctantly accepts, they fight, they fuck, they maybe even talk and discover new things about themselves and the other, finding some solace in each other, with Logan so out of sync with the other 3 and Janus away with Thomas more and more
Lotsa people make templates and stuff for littles, but I hardly see worksheets for carers!!! I'm not very good at making these things aesthetic and cute, but I wanted to make one anyways for my papa! Bunny themed cuz he's a bunny and I made it for him :)
This can also be a fun little activity! Where you have your carer fill it out and add it to your journal or worksheets or something!!!!
(my carer had trouble realizing what i meant so uhm "spoiler" means carers who spoil their regressors!!! the "yes of course baby you can have anything you want" kind!!!)
F2U with or without credit! @ me if you credit, cuz I'd love to see if you use it!!!
