girl GODDAMN
The Federation should be nicer to the Borg. All they want is for everyone to be equal and have their needs provided for. It's so white imperialist American of them to violently resist an extremely invasive change being forced on them. We should totally listen to Locutus when he says that he's better as part of the Borg and that he couldn't be separated anyway.
My dad just sent me this photo, don’t know who it is but I love them!❤️

Star Trek: First Contact (1996)
For some reason, today my sleep-deprived brain has decided to fixate on the fact that the Borg objectively suck at diplomacy. Like first off, their go-to is "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile." But I mean when they assimilate people, they just ... don't use any knowledge that doesn't contribute directly to lethality or defense.
Like. At the time of his assimilation, Picard was one of Starfleet's best diplomats, he was a guy you could absolutely count on to get negotiations done with the desired result, whereas Locutus did what could be technically be described as "negotiation." The Borg Collective's absolute best idea for talking to Worf, a proud Klingon, was to make this poorly-delivered plaintive voice and go "Why do you resist? We only wish to raise the quality of life for all species", and when Worf predictably responds by growling "I like my species the way it is", Locutus's brilliant knockdown counterargument was to snap, "A narrow vision?"
