This time of year as the days get shorter always reminds me of a location shoot in Chicago. We scouted several locations and this one happened on a porch in historic Oak Park. // It was dark because this porch was completely covered in a Prairie style home built at the end of the 1800s. GROUP SHOT FLASH OFF CAMERA

In our Location class, our lecturer introduced us : how to use the flash off camera, we used 2 flashes, one on the camera (master) and one on a light stand (slave) and put them on the same channel so the flash on the light stand would fire when taking a photograph. An umbrella was also put on the light stand in order to soften the light.

From this shooting, I Would say that my best Half length shot is

as the composition is, I think, the best and the expression too. There is a sense of depth if the picture too.

my best full length shit is :

as the group really stands out (which was the effect wanted), but the background is also well lit, composition is also good and I like the angle too.

Risk assessment

Below is my risk assessment for Tollcross Park in particular. Tollcross Park is a location I am very familiar with and I know of the risks and the best time of day to go there (not at night obviously). The park is looked after by Glasgow City Council, but unfortunately there's no set individual who I can contact regarding the park.

There is a petting zoo within the park but it is locked after 3 and is no risk to my group or the animals inside the zoo.

There is a stream that goes through the park and the risk I see here is if we fall in, it isn't deep but can lead to injuries such as broken ankles. To avoid that risk I plan on keeping my group on the paths away from the forestry and streams.
