[6-23-2022] For ThrowbackThursday, I gotta thank @djuricsachs for inviting me to jam with him at @pokalolasocialclub last Saturday (6-18-2022) and for taking pics because I'm a dummy and didn't even think about it. It's cool to just throw down with no pressure and see people enjoy themselves (^-^) To my understanding, a wedding party or 2 (and maybe a bachelorette or birthday party) came through. We were only supposed to play until midnight but it got too poppin so we got to go a little longer. Also, I had to sport Dat "Boto-Drip". [3-7-2022] As most of my friends know, I've been struggling with finding my motivation/passion for DJing (since pre-pandemic). Most of my friends also know I've been wearing masks (pre-pandemic, as well). It started out as a joke but ended up becoming part of the "BotoMaki" identity (and mostly because I don't like how my face looks in pictures). Eagerly awaiting the rest so I can share them~" For the last year or 2 (maybe longer), I've been struggling with motivation, self-confidence, and self-doubt regarding my place in DJing. Heck, I've been struggling with identity since I first started. But something about being behind the decks and watching people dance just brings me back. Also, hearing compliments from complete strangers is refreshing. Now, on a scale from 1-10, my confidence went from a 2 to a 4 (that's double than what it previously was). Progress. Also, I should've worn my Gundam mask. I bought it for the purpose of DJing, afterall. Also, I'll upload my set later. I kinda feel like my set didn't really go with the general vibe of the venue but it worked out nicely to bounce off the previous DJ (BeeTeeDubs, @kaylarias did a fantastic job.
