Luffy gives you a short, appraising look, letting your request sink in fully, and the pause in the air is thick with your anticipation.

You know what you’re asking is stupid, and are not surprised but somewhat disappointed when he says simply, “No.”

“Okay, but what if we got Chopper involved-”

Luffy raises an eyebrow and you blink, and he tilts his head to the side, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Is something wrong with you?”

His arm unfolds quickly, and he places the back of your hand on your forehead, now concerned. “Are you sick? Do you have a fever?”

“No, I don’t have a fever,” you mutter, now annoyed at being… managed.

“Then you’re out of your mind. I’m not hitting you,” Luffy responds, his eyebrows furrowing again in annoyance. With that, he turns promptly on his heels, off to find something else to do with his day before you come up with another idea that’s even more outlandish than something even he could come up with.

The truth is you’re curious. Perhaps some of it has something to do with wanting to quantify just how strong he is and because of some questionable wiring in your mind, the thought of actually experiencing first hand, just once, in a controlled environment, makes you just a little weak in the knees. 

And you won’t let up now.

“Okay but what about if I promised to give you any meat I get for like a month?”

He stops in his tracks, and you think you’ve cornered him, but he twists, and the facial expression he makes is one of such extreme annoyance.

“Really?”

You blink.

“You’re offering me meat in exchange for me hitting you really hard?” Luffy repeats and your face grows hot.

“...Maybe?”

My personal predictions:

Surfing = Zayne

Jet ski = Sylus

Water gun fight = Xavier

Hoverboard = Rafayel

Parasailing = Caleb
