Now that you have converted me to a Leonard/Vetinari shipper, I am dying to know your take on their submarine trip
WHOOPSIES, old posts resurfacing I see. BUT I'll humour you! I still love them sm. Honest though, I don't think it was much different from what we see in the book. (Vetinari is one of those people that's just aggressively asexual + really, how do you say, rigid, even around the inventor who is so often the exclusion to that rule.) It was probably just a good excuse to hang out for them, (despite the inclusion of Messirs Dumb and Dumber,) and what with Leonard sometimes taking that haughty "you don't see me as much as you used to" attitude I bet he was having the time of his life. Nobby and Colon are sometimes described as just watching them and going "wow I bet they're having such intellectual conversations" and meanwhile they're talking about, like, seaweed or something. It's also quite sweet how Leonard creates a game that Vetinari turns out to be amazing at playing. I'm convinced they play other board games as well, Leonard probably correcting the rules as he goes, just to have something to do with their hands... Much to think about.
Related; have you read The Last Hero? You absolutely need to get your hands on The Last Hero if you like these two, it's great. Especially the ending.
