For part of my day, I have been listening to the sounds of the Amazon rainforest on Alexa. I miss it and I’m grateful to have a connection to such a sacred place. 10 % of all the living species of our planet 🌎 call it home. In a few months I’ll be returning with college students, from the University of Nebraska and Wayne State College. I hope, one day, the students might feel what’s in my heart, as I do, when hearing the sounds of the forest. Today I worked with the elementary students and staff at the Umóⁿhoⁿ Nation Public School in Macy Nebraska. After a presentation, we did a workshop what I called; “Take a Stand.” They started writing ✍🏼 answers to three questions. 1. What’s my dream for the world 🌎? 2. What’s my message to the other kids of the world 🌎? 3.What makes me happy? I’m looking forward to reading what they write. The work of creating hope and dreams is such an incredible calling.
