Hello there once again! I have been struggling a lot to think of this week’s topic, this is my fourth try. I think I finally decided what I’m going to write about though.

Everyone, meet my cat Charizard! He is a two year old furball and he lives with me in Eindhoven. Here’s a little background story as to why I got him to begin with.

When I moved to Eindhoven, I was 18 years old and it was my first time living alone. I used to be surrounded by pets, either my dog, or when I visit my grandma I’m surrounded by cats, dogs, goats, you name it. So I started feeling rather lonely in my first year here, which inspired me to get a cat. However, my landlord at the time didn’t allow having pets in the house, so I was unable to get one. Therefore my boyfriend (Hamim) decided he will house the cat temporarily, until me or we find a place which would be suitable for a cat. We spent months looking for a cat, I wanted a ginger cat specifically and preferably a male. Most cats we saw on Marktplaats cost so much money which is unthinkable for me since back home, everyone gives away little kittens for free.

One morning Hamim woke me up and said he found a perfect cat for €15 in Son en Breugel. He was ginger, he was 6 weeks old and he was the cutest. We called the lady and she agreed that we come and take him. I sat in the backseat with him so that he isn’t scared on his first car ride.

I decided to give him a special name, which is Charizard. Some probably see where the inspiration came from and for those who don’t, Charizard is an orange dragon from Pokemon cartoon.

The lady that sold Charizard to us said he was 6 weeks old however, the vet told us he was actually 11 weeks old, considering his size. (Hold on to this thought) So we believed him obviously, I mean he knows better than we do.

(Side note: Charizard is walking on my laptop right now, he always seems jealous of it).

It was truly amazing to see how fast he grew, how his meows developed, how he started running and jumping so effortlessly. Whoever met him, said he is the nicest cat ever. And he really is, his personality is more similar to a dog. Well, maybe a mix between a dog and a baby tiger.

About a year and a half after getting Charizard, I moved to a place where I can finally have him with me. I was so happy about this and still am, because I don’t feel alone ever. Even though he is just a cat, I feel like I always have company, especially because he loves to cuddle. Every morning after my alarm goes off, he jumps on the bed and comes very near my face and just stares at me. There is also purring involved (so cute).

I will tell you more details about my little baby next week and till then, consider getting a baby cat! :D
