I'd love to hear what 'teen comedy' flicks you'd pick for each Yellowjacket. Really what fits their vibe!
Great question!! Buckle up.
(There are some that I can think of multiple movies for each one, but I’m just sticking to one for each. If anyone has other suggestions I’d love to hear it!)
Misty - Never Been Kissed | Josie Grossie as played by Drew? This is such a Misty movie.
Tai - Love & Basketball | This taps into Tai’s competitive nature so much. There are others that remind me of her but I wanted to stick to a film with black leads.
Nat - The Outsiders | Oh, how I loved this book and movie. Rough around the edges with a lot of heart. Rebel Without a Cause is another I’d pick.
Shauna - Heathers | This was a hard pick! I settled on it because Shauna reminds me of Veronica in many ways. So smart and aware of social dynamics while also clinging to them. If people have better suggestions I’m all for hearing it.
Lottie - Donnie Darko | Not a comedy per se, but the struggles Donnie faces are very similar to Lottie. I’d also pick the Craft. Open to suggestions for Lottie.
Jackie - Clueless | Miss Queen Bee with a heart of gold is so very Cher Horowitz. There’s a lot of movies that fit Jackie though.
Travis - Stand By Me | Oh, how I love this movie and how it explores masculinity. This is the perfect amount of tenderness that makes me think of Travis.
Van - Ferris Bueller’s Day Off | Surprisingly I struggled with Van! A lot of movies fit my cinephile blorbo. But Ferris has Van’s approach to life and school pretty well. And he’s kind of an ass, like Van 😆.
Akilah - Now & Then | Akilah was hard to place! I think the fact that she’s really loyal and floats among friend groups lends itself to this movie, I also like making parallels to Travis and this movie is a great double feature with Stand By Me.
Mari - Bring It On | It’s witty, it’s sporty, it’s campy. It’s Mari! She’s also very SoCal to me.
Laura Lee - A Walk To Remember | Also not a comedy but she’d love this movie. Every churchy girl I knew loved this movie. It was tied between this and Saved! but I think LL wouldn’t enjoy the negative light of Christianity in that movie. Either way, my girl is riding for Mandy Moore.
Mel - Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure | Mel loves an adventure movie (Princess Bride) and is kind of a himbo with an earnestness. She’d love this. This movie is very VanHat.
Coach Ben - Dead Poet’s Society | I’d like to think Ben had a really important mentor in his high school days that inspired him to want to be a coach.
Gen - Bend It Like Beckham | This is the most Genlissa movie in the world. She’d love it.
Javi - Neverending Story | Not a teen movie but Javi IS Atreyu and I won’t be convinced otherwise.

Sai Shonagon Invented The Listical In The Late 10th Century
Hateful Things
One is in a hurry to leave, but one's visitor keeps chattering away. If it is someone of no importance, one can get rid of him by saying, "You must tell me all about it next time"; but, should it be the sort of visitor whose presence commands one's best behaviour, the situation is hateful indeed.
One finds that a hair has got caught in the stone on which one is rubbing one's inkstick, or again that gravel is lodged in the inkstick, making a nasty, grating sound.
Someone has suddenly fallen ill and one summons the exorcist. Since he is not at home, one has to send messengers to look for him. After one has had a long fretful wait, the exorcist finally arrives, and with a sigh of relief one asks him to start his incantations. But perhaps he has been exorcizing too many evil spirits recently; for hardly has he installed himself and begun praying when his voice becomes drowsy. Oh, how hateful
! A man who has nothing in particular to recommend him discusses all sorts of subjects at random as though he knew every thing.
An elderly person warms the palms of his hands over a brazier and stretches out the wrinkles. No young man would dream of behaving in such a fashion; old people can really be quite shamless. I have seen some dreary old creatures actually resting their feet on the brazier and rubbing them against the edge while they speak. These are the kind of people who in visiting someone's house first use their fans to wipe away the dust from the mat and, when they finally sit on it, cannot stay still but are forever spreading out the front of their hunting costume or even tucking it up under their knees. One might suppose that such behaviour was restricted to people of humble station; but I have observed it in quite well-bred people, including a Senior Secretary of the Fifth Rank in the Ministry of Ceremonial and a former Governor of Suruga.
I hate the sight of men in their cups who shout, poke their fingers in their mouths, stroke their beards, and pass on the wine to their neighbours with great cries of "Have some more! Drink up!" They tremble, shake their heads, twist their faces, and gesticulate like children who are singing, "We're off to see the Governor." I have seen really well-bred people behave like this and I find it most distasteful.
To envy others and to complain about one's own lot; to speak badly about people; to be inquisitive about the most trivial matters and to resent and abuse people for not telling one, or. if one does manage to worm out some facts, to inform everyone in the most detailed fashion as if one had known all from the beginning - oh, how hateful!
One is just about to be told some interesting piece of news when a baby starts crying.
A flight of crows circle about with loud caws.
An admirer has come on a clandestine visit, but a dog catches sight of him and starts barking. One feels like killing the beast.
One has been foolish enough to invite a man to spend the night in an unsuitable place - and then he starts snoring. A gentleman has visited one secretly. Though he is wearing a tall, lacquered hat, he nevertheless wants no one to see him. He is so flurried, in fact, that upon leaving he bangs into some thing with his hat. Most hateful
I It is annoying too when he lifts up the lyo blind that hangs at the entrance of the room, then lets it fall with a great rattle. If it is a head-blind, things are still worse, for being more solid it makes a terrible noise when it is dropped. There is no excuse for such carelessness. Even a head-blind does not make any noise if one lifts it up gently on entering and leaving the room; the same applies to sliding-doors. If one's movements are rough, even a paper door will bend and resonate when opened; but, if one lifts the door a little while pushing it, there need be no sound.
One has gone to bed and is about to doze off when a mosquito appears, announcing himself in a reedy voice. One can actually feel the wind made by his wings and, slight though it is, one finds it hateful in the extreme.
A carriage passes with a nasty, creaking noise. Annoying to think that the passengers may not even be aware of this! If I am travelling in someone's carriage and I hear it creaking, I dislike not only the noise but also the owner of the carriage.

How are new/upcoming stars decided to b featured in smthn like THR?
Those reporters aren't going out of their way to remember every new face. Entertainment listicles (especially along the themes of year end, award contenders, up & comers) are heavily influenced by PR
...but the body of work should support the hype. Supporting data, stats, news worthiness, etc help earn that kind of coverage. 🌞

#rewatching TRAP
Even funnier the second time around.I read another review of this that said "It's a dumb movie that thinks it's smart". Seeing it again it's a really dumb movie that knows it's dumb, which makes it a lot more entertaining.Josh Hartnett's best onscreen performance running circles around the dumbest fucking cops this side Reno 9-11 or Smokey and the Bandit. For every deux ex Trap-ina, Hartnett gives an off kilter line reading that makes it all worth it.
Fuck a sequel, I want to see Jamie the Magical Negro Shirt Vendor ("Hamilton") give away nuclear launch codes to hostile countries or let children hang around Catholic priests.
A perfect movie to make fun of with your family after you watch it. Thanks, M. Night. Almost makes up for The Happening or The Last Airbender.

"Songbird Leaves" by Zovi & Iggy Oddity
"Put It Back Together" by Fatboy Slim
"I'll Be Your Star" by Lael Neale
i have a lot i can say about all of these, but if you're curious, i made a playlist of it all on Spotify (i should make a YouTube version too)
"Ad Astra per Aspera" is an instant classic.
This is a bad list with bad opinions.
First off, this is Dax and Star Trek VI erasure. And also Enterprise's Judgment, tho the similar setting of Trek VI makes it a bit redundant it should still be in here. I could hear arguments for Enterprise's The Council tho.
Two, Chain of Command Pt 2??!??!?!! That is not courtroom trek. It's a superb ep but doesn't fall in there. I would also say that Encounter at Farpoint doesn't belong here(and if you did that why not have All Good Things...).
Also, sorry SNWers but Ad Astra was not...good. bottom of the list.
I think Judgment, Rules of Engagement, Dax all need to be towards the bottom of the list. Death Wish maybe above those. The TOS eps around the middle, with The Measure of a Man, the Drumhead and Trek VI in the top slots.
