Because of a conversation with my friend @auntynessi I thought I'd share with the wider tumblr denizens some of the techniques I use to get shit done*.
Because it's me, I just typed it all up onto a Google Sheet over here, so if you want to poke around in my brain a bit it's pretty telling.
If you've been here on my blog longer than a day you'll know I'm a chronic list maker. I make lists because I need/have to in order to function.
I am not overstating this - I rely heavily on them. Thursday last week I did not have time to make my daily list and I felt unmoored ALL DAY. I got through the day but the mental exhaustion was far more intense than it would have been otherwise.
* These are things that work FOR ME - I have changed and adapted things over the years to make them more effective so I can achieve things (e.g. my traffic light system). Please take any/all of this and use it as a spring board for your own self as you want. We are all unique and our brains even more so.
And when I say "get shit done" I mean... I work a full-time job, have a partner and kids and friends, a decent social life. I have hobbies like writing fanfic and drawing fanart. I also have a house with chores and cupboards that need spring cleaning etc. I'm a person that tries to cram in a lot into their day, but also find that balance of ensuring I do fun stuff for myself.

Q: “Why write about my day?”
A: Writing about your day is very important. It improves your memory, writing skills, analytical thinking, and keeps you in touch with your surroundings! It may also help you understand your every day life a little better. On a school day, often I chronologically write about events that happened each bell of my day. By doing this, I notice patterns and remember more. It also may remind me of any work that still has yet to be completed!
My name is Bolan and I am so awesome. I mostly post lists and rankings of anything I feel like (when the obsessive is compulsive…). I may do moodboards as well. I love glam rock, music in general, drawing, and theatre! Hope you enjoy :]
