A picture of One Direction came across my dash today and in it Harry & Liam are next to each other. Harry in his long coat and chelsea boots. Liam in denim and flannel and work boots. It struck me how very similar they are/were despite outward appearances. They’re both empathetic, kind, shy/kind of goofy and awkward, but also very polished and charming, talented, driven to succeed. I don’t know why I’m sending this. Hi anon. I agree with you about the similarities of them. They both care about their family, also very sweet with their fans. For what I had seen of fan stories both can be introvert maybe in a social situation but is interesting how in the stage were able to switch off and own the stage and hype the crowd in their own way etc.

i agree 100% it’s clear h was never close with liam or at least not as close as the other boys, but liam did say at the atv premiere they’d all supported him through rehab and in his apology video repeated this/thanked them all so i don’t think it’s a case so much of he ~never~ did anything to help because that clearly included h, but 100% it’s a case of he never did anything publicly and that would’ve been so beneficial considering his fanbase size and how they were always on his back. also, unfortunately i don’t think bg is going anywhere :( h is clearly still chummy at least with rob and l is still tweeting about ‘his son’ and the energy to end it has to come from him too after all he’s the ‘father’ he’s the one that will face any backlash so it will only happen when he’s prepared and well…

I totally agree with your assessment on H and Liam's relationship. I do think H did try to help, of course he did, but was not as close to Liam as the other boys were. Beyond their time in 1D i think they have little in common and were just very different people. Seeing someone struggle coming to terms with trauma they all experienced in 1D, and succumbing to it, must be pretty harrowing for the rest of the boys though. That will yet again highlight the graveness of what they went through, and still going through.
I still hold out on hope bg is ending. H, L and fandom desperately need the changes it will bring us all if we're to continue to survive and thrive.
