Working on a vintage fantasy princess rn (Lirazel of Elfland) 😋
@Inktober 52 Elf . One of my favorite books of all times is Lord Dunsany’s The King of Elfland’s Daughter. Lirazel is a beautiful elf princess wearing a crown of ice jewels when we first meet her. Yet throughout the story she is confronted by the ability to see the limitations of all, and the impotence to help due to her position. Sorrow seeps into her souls and so she is a sad princess of Elfland. . Inspired by the #Inktober52 prompt and the book, I decided to illustrate Lirazel as I imagine her, using Sailor Ink Studio 162 to convey the magic, love of nature and sorrow that are all parts of her. . The pens are @franklinchristoph 46 Italian ice with a Masuyama Needlepoint and a @Penbbs 456 F (for broader lines), both inked with 162. . It’s a testament to just how exhausted Dongwoo must be because he lets that go, dropping his head to rest on his hand as Woohyun bustles around in the kitchen looking for chopsticks and a napkin. Sunggyu watches as Dongwoo’s fingers knead at his temple, and he isn’t sure whether the feeling in his heart is rage or heartbreak. Dongwoo should never look like this. Even in the half-light of the kitchen and with the smears of not-quite-removed makeup still on Dongwoo’s face, Sunggyu can see how haggard he looks. He can see.
