jordan not only being bigender but being amab and their anxieties about presenting as female is so well done in terms of not just characterization but politics. their talk abt coming to terms with gender shifting/presenting as female and being afraid bc of their parent’s expectations and their nightmares of being hated and scaring ppl as a child, how they’re demonized by the public as soon as they mess up, the lies abt them harassing a cis girl in the women’s bathroom, them having to physically fight a cis woman and be hated for it. it all shows a great allegory for the experience and struggles of being transfem. their reliance on presenting masculine/male when trying to take charge of a situation or fear they are in a vulnerable position shows the inherent fears of what it means politically and socially to occupy a female form/body. their worry abt whether marie will still like them when presenting as a girl being representative of the worries and fears queer women and gnc ppl have entering relationships w other women. soooo many layers here, really one of tv’s best written characters lately
