"And I am going as a witch for Halloween!" Christina shouts, the door slamming behind her.

Myka looks up from her book, sees Helena throw her hands up in frustration, then sigh.

"What's going on?"

"Oh, nothing much, my dearest daughter has once again decided she hates me and everything I stand for," Helena replies quite drily, so Myka is sure whatever this is about can't be all that serious.

"Oh?"

"I merely suggested that she might want to wear a more inspired outfit for the event at her school, especially if she is interested in winning the costume contest - but it turns out she is more interested in fitting in than in standing out, no matter how favourably!"

Amused, Myka puts her book away and goes to give Helena a hug. "Are you mad she isn't going as HG Wells?"

"As my brother, with a fake moustache you mean? Perish the thought!"

Laughing, Myka pecks Helena on the lips. "Well, what were your suggestions?"

"Not any good, according to my own flesh and blood," Helena pouts. "...Well, I suppose we better go shopping for a witches' hat before every other school girl buys the stores out of stock!"

Helena could, of course, make Christina a much better witch costume than the plastic found in a Spirit Halloween, but if the kid wants to fit in with her friends by looking exactly like them, that's what she gets! It's tough enough being in middle school, after all...

Deb: so startled she forgets she was denying that there's anything between them, immediately kisses her back

Ava: when you can honestly tell me that you don't want this, maybe we'll talk. Dyke.

Part 2 of ? Avorah idiots to lovers photo story

My entry for @thedrabblecollective day 8 got a lot of supporting cast because I got prompted several fandoms and I decided to combine them instead of picking one over the other! the result might not be quite what any of you expected but I hope you'll still like it :) the story is cut into several pieces from different points of views, each exactly one hundred words long.

@purlturtle first prompted Bering&Wells, so of course we're in the world of Warehouse 13 - but then @kayivy prompted Mirandy, so I thought what if the DWP people get in contact with a Warehouse artifact? And last but not least, @bluecrystalfrog prompted Leverage, and I managed to work Sophie Devereaux into the story for you!

She barely heard what her assistant said to her, fleeing without another word and running down to Nigel’s department.

“I need help.”

“Miranda! What brings you over? Did you get the proofs for the –”

“Yes, yes, that is not the issue. There’s – there is something wrong with me, Nigel! I keep staring at Andréa’s boots! They’re not even from this season!”

“Oh, so you are finally admitting it?”

“Admitting what?”

“Your crush on your little assistant, of course!!!”
