If I have to be honest, no. I'm not okay. I've been feeling a tightness in my chest for months, sad for reasons that are hard to explain, and a little lonely but that's something I've dealt with for years. I could cry all the time, but fuck it we still ball. Thank you all for being here 🥹
I know I'm unable to stop talking about this but I am literally so so upset that the conversation around genAI has shifted from "it's bad because it's literally plagiarism" to "it's bad because it uses up water". Like don't get me wrong, the environmental impact is not something to be taken lightly and it is genuinely horrible, but no one fucking talks about artists and writers having their work stolen from them and cannibalised into a horrible approximation of itself, it doesn't even come up anymore. Everyone's acting like the environmental impact is the biggest and only reason to hate genAI now, as if the whole way it comes to be isn't relevant anymore. And, I don't know, maybe there are more people who care about the environment than about art, about other people. Maybe this is a better way to get people to sympathise with the anti-AI sentiment. I don't know. All I know is I feel like I'm going insane by still being mad about something the general public seems to have moved on from. This is still happening! Our work is being stolen and forced against us! The internet is being scraped over and over and over again! Artists are living in poverty while their passion is used to line the pockets of billionaires with gold! This is STILL OUR REALITY.
And I am so tired of no one else acknowledging it anymore.

I'm so hungry it's making me angry. It isn't fair that we can't afford groceries or even food for a single day. It's frustrating that I have to sleep through most of the day just to ignore my hunger, but then i end up stuck awake nearly all night because I'm so hungry. I'm tired of begging online hoping someone can help me afford food. We missed the food pantry this month because my surgery was the day before they were handing out the food and I was still in the hospital so we missed it. I'm tired of not having food security. I'm so hungry and tired and angry and sad. Idk vent over.
