Why does my brain say ‘just one more episode’ like I don’t have consequences tomorrow.
I recently completed a medical questionnaire about future care preferences. I indicated that if I were ever in a situation with no meaningful chance of recovery, I wouldn’t want to be kept alive by machines. My parents know my wishes, and it’s simply part of planning ahead, not something I’m expecting to happen anytime soon.
What affected my relationship with God in the past was a moment in church that really stuck with me. A woman said that her dogs aren’t like her kids, and that her dogs are not her children. That honestly hurt my heart, because I see my dogs as my fur babies. I’m a proud fur mom, and they mean so much to me.
I also went through some difficult things at home that made me feel distant from God for a while. But despite that, I truly want to grow closer to Him again, not just for my family, but for myself too.
