listen it was not a very smart thing for lestat to have gone to paris seeking armandâs help, but you have to understand he left paris genuinely thinking theyâd solved all their problems and were friends. and even when nicki kills himself, lestatâs like âthat little monster thought he was helping i canât even be mad at him.â like he does not have the capacity to hold a grudge at all.
A/N: the first of what I hope will become a little series (?) with different situations between the characters and headcannons. Also, as of writing this (06/01), the winner of my poll so the first one posted.
Tags: mentions of j*bs (sorry guys), my knowledge of postgraduate studies comes from my experience as an undergrad student who very briefly considered doing a post graduate degree.
Big thanks to my queen @sixxels for reading all of this for me because I was scared it was shit

Meeting Nanami Kento
When youâd taken the postgraduate internship at Gojo Ltd you had been warned by your course leader that the company CEO was âa bit muchâ. You were expecting to encounter a man who had watched too much of the office and acted like Michael Scott. The reality was so much worse. Because you know what, despite his inability to be professional, Michael Scott was charming. The white-haired man in front of you was not charming. He was loud, rash, and often crude. I mean what right did this thirty year old man have to flirt with you, a twenty-two year old postgraduate student?Â
It was a routine you had gotten used to. Monday â Thursday you were an intern for Gojo Ltd (youâd been there for a month and you still werenât entirely sure what the company even did), Fridays in lectures, and the weekend was reserved for studying. So by the time it got back to Monday you really were not in the mood for Gojoâs flirting. Which is how you had ended up being sent to the accounting department.Â
Youâd been polite since you had started the internship, putting up with much more bullshit than most people would have. But thereâs only so many times that you could handle that manâs gaze on your legs, or the teasing comments about how a âsmall womanâ like yourself should be looked after rather than working in an office all day. There was one comment that had pushed you over the edge though. Gojo had sauntered into the office like Godâs gift and bragged about how he was âthe strongest man on the planetâ and that he knew he was âbetter than everyone in this office.âÂ
Your eyes had rolled before you could stop them, in your tired state youâd forgotten that Gojo wasnât one of your student friends. He was your boss. Youâd muttered âwhy do you need everyoneâs approval thenâ.Â
People had gone quiet which was the first sign that youâd made a mistake. You look up at Gojo and immediately start to apologise. Though for the first time, the man has no loud comment to make. He simply enters his office, grabs your file and mutters âyouâre working in accounting. Mr Nanami will be your advisor.âÂ
Without complaint you had grabbed your work and file and made it to the much quieter accounting department. Mr Nanami was in a meeting when you arrived so you placed your file on his desk and placed your work on an empty desk close to his.Â
ââââââââââââÂ
Nanami Kento was in a meeting when he received an email from his hyperactive boss. The email was... interesting.
Thank you for letting me know Mr Gojo.
Also, please see my email from last month requesting that my email address be changed to something more appropriate.
He'd received no response from the annoying man after that, but his email address had been changed to NanamiTHEBORINGACCOUNTANTkento, which he supposed was better.
The meeting had dragged, higher ups arguing that the numbers didn't add up while Nanami tried to find the supposed problem that they had identified. After apologising profusely and promising to fix the issue the meeting finally came to the end and the blonde man was free to return to his desk.
The files caught his eye immediately and he sat down to read through your personal statement and references, deciding whether or not he wanted to keep you on the team. He looked up at you, a younger woman by around eight years from what he could tell, pretty in a way that didn't demand attention, in loose clothes that were no doubt chosen to avoid comments from Gojo. His eyes lingered a little longer than necessary before he called you to his desk.
ââââââââââââÂ
After a twenty minute discussion with you, Nanami had learnt three things. You kept to yourself, a nice change from those in the office around you; you were smart enough to correct the mistakes of his previous intern (Ino had been enthusiastic but clumsy in his work); and ignoring you was going to be damn near impossible.
It wasn't just that you were pretty, because Nanami wasn't the kind of man who was attracted to someone based on their appearance. You were intelligent, and you had a dry sense of humour that matched his, but you seemed kind too. Your introduction was more than the expected formal pleasantries. When you made yourself a coffee, you had offered him one too.
They were little things, really. Small actions that could have been done by anyone. His assistant acted like this everyday. So he wasn't sure exactly what it was that had made you stand out. Maybe it was the textbook on your desk that you studied from when you didn't have an assigned task. Maybe it was your small smile despite the bags under your eyes.
Or, maybe, it was the fact that you were 'mean' to Gojo. Because he didn't quite know what you had said, but it was enough for Gojo's ego to take a hit.
And to Nanami Kento, that was extremely attractive.
A/N: Okay this was low-key the easiest thing I've written for this account so far. I reached flow state to a point where I'm scared to re-read it in case I hate it.
I intended for this to be a one shot but around 100 words in I decided I wanted this to be something that I could pick up whenever and write something new, hence the open ending.
Hope you all enjoy :)

There's something so sad to me about the fact Lan Xichen goes from happily encouraging Lan Wangji to befriend Wei Wuxian to Considering Wei Wuxian to be Lan Wangjis 'only mistake'
Like... Imaging getting a miracle second chance not only at life but to have be loved by the man you've always admired only to find out that his family detests you because during the worst time in your life, physically and mentally you didn't take into account the idea that a man who'd always treated with cool acquaintance at best, active distaste at worst actually cared about you and that his constant reproach and effort get you do give up the one method you have to protect yourself while everyone was literally actually out for your head was honestly because he was badly wording his concern and not because he hated you and the methods you used to survive.
