for a lot of reasons but the part I'm obsessed with is how Lamatyi and Sphene have this very bittersweet but tender dynamic where its like

Lamatyi had this miserable doomed over-before-it-began relationship with endless!sphene and is like very consciously aware that this is a different person from who she knew, not an opportunity to redo a previous relationship, whatever emotions it brings up to see her face / hear her voice, and yet this Sphene is also someone with integrity who she respects, wants to know, cares about, feels a responsibility to care about in remembrance but also as a friend

And then Sphene is learning through this friendship about the way this other version of her was treated and having huge emotions about it but seems to think she's overstepping by feeling that way so you just see her nearly burst into tears with gratitude and then apologise for it its very sweet
