first of all, Caitlyn's natural lip colour does not veer pink, it veers nude with brown undertones

in situations where we see her with a shadow, generally even the pinkness tends to have a warm undertone rather than a cool one

Vi and Cait in the same scene, for comparison, keeping in mind that 1) this is cool lighting, and 2) Cait's lips are bleeding, which means they are way pinker than normal since all the blood is rushing there. In contrast, Vi's lips look almost purple, since she has a cool undertone

this is in direct sunlight, and i dont think i need to emphasise the difference here, it's pretty easy to see

i will add in Cassandra (who is mixed white and asian btw in case anyone was confused), because Cait seems to have inherited this from her.

The reason why this translates to Caitlyn having brown nipples is that Asians, even fair-skinned Asians, have melatonin. That will often manifest in other ways, like darker knees, underarms, genitalia, and areolas as well. One correlation (And it is a correlation, because while common its not 100 percent) is that fair-skinned Asians who don't blush easily, or have warm-toned lips, will have this hyperpigmentation in other parts of their bodies.

This matters because the number of creators who seem to miss this fact only goes to show how little people understand Asian bodies, often associating Caitlyn with the stereotypical East Asian looks (which manifests in other ways as well, like making her shorter, removing her musculature, softening/rounding out her features, or making her extremely pale while depicting Vi as extremely tanned.)

Moreover, this ties into a lot of issues ppl have in this fandom of "femme Caitlyn", because while not inherently wrong, it brings to light certain unconscious biases that perhaps the fans themselves have not reflected upon. Personally, I have no issue with butchfemme CaitVi, in fact, I have enjoyed it in manyyyy fics when it is done right, and not simply to shoehorn these lovely, multi-faceted characters into a specific box/label.
