PSA: Hi, I’m April…and I LOVE skincare devices!🙋🏻‍♀️ That being said, many home care devices out there really are not something that the average consumer (and yes, even most “skinfluencers”) should be using. ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Now the @mynuface and @lightstim devices pictured here are both great and can certainly be used safely by anyone. However, when it comes to something like the @dermaflash Dermapore device (as well as dermaplaning, micro needling, etc.), while created for public consumers, it’s my personal opinion that these should really be reserved for your esthetician during your professional facial treatments. ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ First of all, the home care versions of these devices will hardly ever match the efficacy of what you’ll experience in a professional spa treatment (even the NuFace device pictured here is a pro version that offers more than what you can purchase as a consumer). Secondly, there are lots of things that your esthetician does (and is trained to do) to prep your skin for these treatments so that you receive optimal results. Without this knowledge you can cause A LOT of damage to your skin! I even remember one time using another Ultrasonic Spatula/Skin Scrubber when I was in a rush and hadn’t prepped my skin properly and it left a spot of pigmentation (which is VERY rare for me) on my nose. I knew better and still was sadly reminded for the next 6 month that it took to fade away that it just wasn’t worth it! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ FULL DISCLOSURE: I am not a practicing esthetician but I have a unique background that includes extensive professional training which is the only reason I feel comfortable using SOME of these devices on myself.
