also. to all the people going “oh but she said we can headcanon whatever we want for the other stuff but not this”
do you think maybe that’s why she didn’t bother to say it again for the millionth time?
for every other thing that she’s clarified, dana has said you can headcanon whatever you want. MANY times. do you think it doesn’t get redundant? do you realize that at some point maybe you’re supposed to read the room and understand that that applies to EVERY fact dana makes canon? have you considered using the critical thinking that helped you reach the conclusion that you need to spread hatred and misinformation, to instead understand that you don’t need to be spoonfed the same reassurances over and over again in order to enjoy fandom?
i’m not claiming this is exactly what dana was thinking. i can’t speak for her. but it seems pretty clear to me that her intention is for the fans to enjoy the show however they please, as long as they’re not FIGHTING about it. at some point the creator HAS to trust that their fans will enjoy the show and do what they want with canon. that the fans will know that once again, they don’t need the creator to hold their hand every step of the way.

warning this is EXTREMELY rambly because i want to talk about the movie while it's still fresh in my mind.
oh my god. ohhhhhhhh my god. they cooked so hard. was it perfect? no. did it blow my mind? yes. there's SO MUCH in this movie it was hard to keep track of it all it's insane what they managed to fit within less than 2 hours.
first of all charlie's backstory was so haunting and sad. i was so relieved when she first stepped out from the curtain but then when i saw the wounds... oh my god. they did an amazing job with her, the poor girl. the shot of the marionette rising out of the floor holding her body was amazing. once again they did such a wonderful job with all the animatronics and the set design, the detail was amazing and the world felt so full of life and energy. and the marionette was freaking HUGE. i was not prepared for how big she was going to be lmao.
charlie possessing multiple humans was not on my bingo card for this movie!! the way lisa started crawling like a spider when that happened to her scared the hell out of me 😭 but it looks like she survived in the end? hopefully she's ok.
vanessa's trauma was explored a lot too, i liked that they showed her seeing william everywhere, seeing the form he took right before he stabbed her in the first movie. that bloodstained suit. her trying to get out more and join classes so she could feel better only to struggle with her trauma there too was really really sad. i liked that she gave mike's idea of going back to her dream One try. her nightmare scene was super trippy and intense, it was really well done. i feel terrible for her and i love her even more after seeing how hard she's fighting to save abby, save mike, try and keep more people from getting hurt.
mike was kinda stupid (affectionate) in this one but tbh i can see why. he just learned the lesson of moving on from his past trauma in the first movie and now he's leaning a little too hard in the other direction. he's not allowed to escape freddy's once they leave their mark on him, unfortunately 😔 i hate that he felt like he had to cut vanessa off at the end but i understand why he did it. it's not fair. none of this is fair to any of them. i love watching this trainwreck of a sequence of events unfold on the big screen it's so surreal. him saying "i love you" to abby was really sweet and their scene together in the trashed franchise pizzeria was really sad and lovely at the same time.
i can't NOT talk about michael (the OTHER michael) in the first part of the movie. when he introduced himself i was like "no...? it can't be." and he definitely had massive evil vibes the whole time he was there ToT his acting was amazing. im kind of on the fence about his role in the movies' story since i'm not sure how they're going to pull off having two mikes, but since they've already shown they're still able to make a good story with differences in the characters i'm willing to accept it.
when he showed up at the end and confirmed he WAS michael afton i lost my mind. im. insane. it might have been a little bit wild to do that tbh but i can understand how it would work in universe. why vanessa simply never brought him up. it's possible she just pushed him out of her mind entirely because she couldn't handle that much trauma. and i understand why she hid so MUCH from mike schmidt but i can't believe she hid so much, and i understand mike's disbelief at learning just how bad the situation he's been roped into is even as im frustrated with him for wanting vanessa to leave. all in all the acting and characters felt very human to me and even though it could be a little stretched in some places i think they did a good job staying true to the characters and showing how they act when they're afraid and in disbelief.
michael afton is EXTREMELY brainwashed and it's honestly fascinating to see him positioned against vanessa who was always trying so much harder to break free. i really hope he gets a satisfying ending, maybe even a positive one where he can break free of william's influence too and try to stop the cycle of freddy's. but whether or not he does, i hope they're able to pull off a narratively fulfilling ending with him.
speaking of endings can we TALK about that cliffhanger. that's not what i expected going into this movie at all ToT it was insane when they cut from vanessa's posession right to the credits i literally yelled "WHAT" in the theater when that happened. there was so much applause it was awesome to be in a room with so many other people who love fnaf, especially since i watched the first movie in a place where not many people are inclined to talk about it. <3
IT'S BEEEEEEN SO LOOOOOOOOOONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SINCE LAST I SEEN MY SON LOST TO THIS MONSTER!!!!!!! TO THE MAN BEHIND THE SLAUGHTER!!!!!!!!!!!!
im lowkey disappointed they only played the first half of the song but honestly the post-credits scene was more than worth it they did an AMAZING job capturing the vibe and foreshadowing the next movie. like we ALREADY knew what that scene would be going in but it still rocked so hard to see it in the theater. so much applause.
AND HENRY'S MESSAGE!!!!!!!! HIS MESSAGE TO MIKE!!!!!! im afraid the marionette might have got him but i really REALLY hope that's not the case and we get to see him again in future movies. i honestly wish he had more screentime but there was so much packed into this movie it would've been hard to Not cut something out. im still glad we got to hear his voice at the end. i NEED to hear his final monologue and watch the ending of pizzeria sim play out on the big screen.
abby was amazing once again, piper did awesome playing her and she brought so much energy and attitude to the character. it's so lovely to see how much abby's opened up after the first movie and so sad to see how much she misses her friends. her attachment to chica specifically really touched me. these movies love chica. toy chica honestly felt so special and loved to me, even despite how people in the fandom sometimes treat her. i literally cheered when she went after abby's teacher lmao he was the one guy i was HOPING they would get. speaking of which, it was funny to see doug again, and i guess it's ok that aunt jane survived *rolls eyes*. i think it's funny that her talking about it caused the fazfest. i thought the concept of the fazfest was funny in general but it was really fun and cute seeing everyone dress up as the animatronics <333
the amount of cameos in this movie was insane. cory appearing again for the same bit, doug, freaking SHADOW BONNIE APPEARING IN THE DARK FOR A SPLIT SECOND. it was good to see cassidy again at the end too. the original kids all banding together to destroy the toys was awesome lmao im so happy they got closure.
speaking of the toys, they were AMAZING. megan fox actually did a great job as chica, when i heard her all i heard was toy chica. same with matpat, he did a wonderful job voice acting. i love that he was able to pull off a fantastic toy bonnie voice instead of playing Matpat Playing Toy Bonnie. he's a great actor. toy freddy's voice actor (i don't rmb his name im sorry) was really good too, he only had a couple lines but i love how ominous he sounded. the actress for charlotte was amazing, her rage and conviction was so convincing and i really hope she can find a better end in the next movie.
at some points the plot did feel rushed, but honestly they did a decent job tying up most loose ends and leaving just a few for the next movie. obviously the biggest things im waiting to see are what happens to vanessa and mike, what michael afton does next, how springtrap is handled, and whether or not charlotte finds closure. i really want everyone in these movies to be okay. i want vanessa and mike to heal together. im not a big mike/vanessa shipper but i honestly don't mind the idea of a romance between them, i think their dynamic is great either way.
mike was SUPER calm the whole time he was putting charlie to sleep when she was possessing abby ToT i honestly expected more visceral emotions from him but he was probably trying to keep it together for abby. and then they had to handle the animatronics lol. there was a LOT in this movie.
i loved the acting, i loved the voices of the animatronics, i loved seeing the toys and the withereds both wreak havoc on the town (WITHERED BONNIE!!), i thought it was interesting that they made the withereds and the originals two separate sets of robots but it makes sense considering the continuity of the movies is different.
i LOVED the animatronic and set design, i love how much detail went into this movie in every scene, you can just tell how much they love the world of fnaf. apparently my brother even noticed two of the arcade games referenced five nights at candy's and the pop goes fangames, which honestly sounds surreal. imagine being the guy who made a fnaf fangame and seeing it referenced IN THE OFFICIAL MOVIE. i can't get over how much the fnaf movie creators love the fans.
i can't remember much else i want to talk about rn, but if there is i'll make another post. but yeah this movie was 100% worth the wait, i literally can't believe i have to wait for the next one. im very very excited and happy.
you guys, in pakistan Ramadan is like the equivalent of christmas in the US when it comes to marketing and ads. Every food brand, everything has a Ramadan sale attached to it it’s wild. Some chain stores sell a whole Ramadan package with dates, milk, flour, oil/ghee, probably dahi, frozen samosas, rooh-afza, everything we usually eat. yknow like those big christmas packages with 60 different kinds of Godiva chocolates but it’s actual food.
Ramadan is more commercialized in Pakistan than Eid, and Eid is the actual holiday. Ramadan is a religious month that we fast in, not really a celebration. Insane.
Anyway for my non-Muslim friends, make a Muslim in your community happy by taking them out to a halal restaurant for Iftar. Ask them about how they practice Ramadan. Buy them Krispy Kreme for dessert. Be like that one guy on TikTok who woke up at 4 to prepare suhoor for his roommate. Learn more about Islam. Look out for the Muslims in your community. And for Allah’s sake, don’t stop talking about Palestine.
to the Muslims, Ramadan Mubarak, may your days be filled with peace and prosperity from Allah, may He answer all your prayers for this year.
Don’t forget to check your dates so you’re not accidentally beginning or breaking your fast with Israeli-grown ones. Pray Taraweeh if you can go to the masjid. Help your parents make iftar if you live with your parents idk. Have a blessed Ramadan everyone 🫶🇵🇰📿

it’s so funny to me how our expectations of who’s the most likely to abstract were subverted. like in the first episode we were presented with this clear picture of kinger as someone constantly on the verge of losing his mind completely and jax as someone who’s figured everything out and is secure in his sense of freedom
but the new episodes have completely flipped that around by developing kinger as someone who understands better how the circus works than the others (like with his butterflies) and can actually help the others deal with their problems, meanwhile jax is way more troubled than he lets on and very nearly abstracts under the weight of being reminded of ribbit + pomni calling him out and attacking him (W pomni btw) + literally everything else lmao
i was inspired to talk about this after seeing another post that brought up kinger’s understanding of the circus, it’s just really fascinating to me
anyway this also reminds me that if you joined tumblr recently your feeds might be arranged so that the For You page is pinned/default! no one really uses fyp on tumblr and the best way to see all the posts from only the people you follow is by pinning the Following page. (who woulda thunk it?? /s)
we don't have a culture like IG or tiktok where people are trying to get on the fyp because no one cares about the fyp on here. (that's also why so many people are pissed about this recent update because it's just another case of tumblr sacrificing usability and its unique appeal to become more like other social media sites.) so yeah if your fyp is set as the first tab on your dashboard make sure to pin the Following page instead!
also on web you have the ability to toggle Tumblr TV on or off, as well as the Your Tags page. (on mobile you can only toggle Your Tags; Tumblr TV is always available as the little youtube-looking icon at the bottom.)
i personally like looking through certain tags cough fnf psychic cough and the Your Tags page makes it way easier to do that when you're following tags you're interested in. Tumblr TV doesn't really add anything except i think make the interface look like tiktok or reels or whatever so i turned mine off but do with this info what you wish.
ALSO i got this info from another post but there are also dashboards that show you even more specifically curated posts:
this dash lets you see only posts from blogs you're subscribed to (aka blogs that you get notifications for, i love this dash so much it helps me cut to the chase way faster lol)
this dash lets you see posts from your "faves" (aka the blogs you've been engaging with the most recently. i don't use this one because i feel like the first dash fulfills a similar purpose but feel free to take a look anyway)
"what you missed" (aka posts from blogs you're subbed to that you haven't seen/interacted with yet? i think?)
trending tags/posts on tumblr (not my cup of tea personally but again if that's smth that interests you :please_lg:)
