"Spirits of love from the spheres of light [souls who have all lived on Earth] help man to develop further in spirituality. They do that on Earth by inspiring people to do the right thing.
They also help the spiritual man in the spheres [spiritual dimensions] and stimulate them to go further and further in their spiritual development. But, mind you, man has free will and can only be helped if he really wants to commit himself to it.
The Earth is an important school. Spiritual development in a life on Earth is easier for the soul than spiritual development in the spheres."

All of the Light Spirits in Twilight Princess have exquisite designs, but my favorite is Faron’s. The shape of the monkey-with-a-scorpion-tail strongly echoes the spiral on the Kokiri Emerald and Farore's Pearl
And the pose, too... it reminds me of this statue I saw (in a Cathedral garden actually) of a monkey playing with a big mirror-ball, entranced by its own reflection. "Monkey studies his reflection" is a motif I've seen a couple of places, and I really like it.

I think I already posted this concept art here but it doesn't hurt to do it again. This is Magnozia, The Great Plateau Light Spirit. They are the first spirit Zelda encounters and the only one that has remained uncorrupted by Malice, for reasons that will be revealed later in the story. They are the one that formally ask Zelda to help the other Spirits regain their power, and is located to the far left in The River of the Dead, under Mount Hylia.
They watch over the Plateau and only the Plateau, keeping a watchful eye over the secrets it holds.
