#light sides

Part 2 of this post of my sander sides posters with the light sides this time!

I added virgil in here too cause yknow our resident spider isn't just a dark side or a light side!

Like... can we talk about the discrimination allegory and aspect of the dark sides and the whole concept of being separated from the light sides due to perceptions and other aspects. That's something that I wanna discuss so badly as a person of colour that sees interest in this conversation... but no one takes me seriously for it or says I am reaching too much into it.

Roman and Remus are swapped, Logan and Virgil are swapped, and Patton and Janus are swapped!

SOME INFO ABOUT THEM:

Roman: like canon Roman he’s pretty desperate for attention and praise. although he’s mostly accepted that the others won’t accept him for who he is, he’s formed a pretty toxic dynamic with Pat and craves his approval.

Remus: Remus is more of an abstract artist and prefers taking a unique approach to his projects in general, however this does mean that others (especially Virgil) struggle to understand his work and by extension him. overall he’s a rather bitter and distant creativity.

Virgil: used to be seem more “chill” as he did his work more quietly, and didn’t originally show up as much in person (like canon Virge he doesn’t typically like being the center of attention) however over time he’s grown very frustrated at how under appreciated he truly is. almost opposite to canon logic who’s becoming more distant with time, swap!Virgil is showing up more and more…even in situations where it’d be better if he stayed out of.

Logan: he acts like an assistant of sorts to Virgil and Janus, helping keep track of things and keeping notes on different things. It’s something that Virgil recommended to help Logan feel more in control and less anxious about stuff. although things have been more awkward since Janus and Patton started hanging out, and Virgil started acting more aggressive

Janus: Canon morality’s “dadness” doesn’t transfer to Janus, however he’s still very loving and cares very very deeply for the others. lack of dadness doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a bit though! he has more of a “school counselor” “therapist” type thing going on. he’s still very (unintentionally) condescending towards the others though like canon morality.

Anyone notice how when any of the “Dark Sides” try to get Thomas’ attention they kind of highjack one of the og light sides?

We all know that Janus has impersonated Patton on multiple occasions, going back to even before we first met the sides, taking Patton’s spot in the conversation. The same thing happened when we were first introduced to Remus - roman became basically incapacitated for the whole episode when Remus “took his spot” and made his presence known.

When it comes to Orange and Logan it’s a bit different but Logan’s eyes glow when he’s almost overcome with rage. like taken over… with rage.. so you see

P.S. This doesn’t really apply to Virgil because I think he’s more of the middle ground between the split, because of the spectrum of anxiety and how it can easily be detrimental as much as it is necessary.
