Zoe initiated some role play today about a social worker pony going to an adoptive family and then to the foster family (all ponies), to interview the adoptive family and then to tell the young pony about her new family. I didn't initiate or steer this at all, so it was fascinating to see it through her eyes! As many of you know, I write books to help children to understand/process adoption. I read books by fellow adopters too, but also think it's important for me to read books by adoptees and birth parents, to understand the perspectives of other people affected by adoption. I have read some excellent books recently, so wanted to share them with you. These have all taught me different things that I feel will help me to be a better parent and person.
