so i remembered that i love mr mint from candyland 80s design. and then i made him gay. oops.

Up next, and to no one's surprise, my favorite candy boys~ I've been working on this one for MONTHS and I'm so happy it's finally come to fruition!

Microfic: Affection

Mister Mint is a very affectionate man. Lord Licorice is not. Or, rather, he is, but it’s gotten to the point that he’s touch-starved. He has a reputation to uphold, so there’s no touching while they’re in public. There are no displays of open affection. When Mint is in one of his more demonstrative moods, Licorice sends him off to a distance. Somewhere that he can still keep an eye on his boyfriend.

He's not used to having someone in his life who honestly cares for him. Last time, he fell hard, and it bit him in the ass. He watches from across the room or establishment. It’s not that he doesn’t trust him, but it’s also not that that he doesn’t not trust him. As they walk back from their overall tenth date, Mint surprises Licorice with a kiss on the cheek when no one is around.

“What was that?”

“Affection!” Mint chirps. His voice grows somber after no response. “That was okay, right? We’re alone now.”

Licorice huffs lightly, but he reaches for Mint’s hand and interlaces their fingers. Mint smiles and gently swings their arms as they continue walking.

Look, I love fan fiction and I have read an unhealthy amount of it. In this series I dive into some of the most questionable and rare tags on AO3.

Disclaimer: Fan fiction is a great way to practice writing and is super productive. Most of these fan fics are actually super good, they are just based on out of the ordinary things. Take everything I say with a grain of salt. 

Ok, I stumbled upon this one searching for tags for this series. I loved this board game as a kid and I am very intrigued. Lets see what I find.

There is 8 works under this tag and the main ship seems to be Lord Licorice/Mr. Mint. There is also 2 books that are not related only to the game, one is for Avengers and the other......I’m not sure how to describe.

Enemies to Lovers, you have sparked my interests lol. 

They got trapped in a cave together and now have to snuggle to keep warm. There is also a well plotted redemption arc.

I think....Mr.Mint just asked Lord Licorice to take all of his clothes off...

That actually had a nice ending. Overall I thinks this was well written and it had quite a bit of angst which I liked. I give this a 10/10

The second one is the smut I mention earlier, it is the only other one that is under 10,000 words so I am reading it!

To summarize this.....Mr. Mint gives Lord Licorice a blow-job in exchange for him to stop terrorizing the snow beavers in peppermint forest. 

My overall census for what I have read today is that Candy Land fan fic isn’t that bad but can also ruin your childhood. I am low-key kind of shipping Licmint right now and think this is a really creative thing to write fan fiction about.
