it’s about managing to find connection even in purgatory it’s about “we found love in a hopeless place” and “i found love where it wasn’t supposed to be”!!!! and purgatory somehow being pure so it’s where dean starts to let himself want things he hadn’t before!!!!!! it’s about dean being desperate to find cas and benny being his only comfort!!!! it’s about how they said “we’re real” first!!! it’s about how the “did you just break up with someone too” line in 8.11 was about benny!!!!
bless you. every time sam has a go at dean for being controlling on the show, only to do the same shit and/or worse shit like 2 episodes later I'm ready to throw hands. (best example: dean letting ezekiel into sam vs. sam releasing the darkness)
exactly. i can give you two of Many examples in which sam exhibits controlling behavior and exerts pressure on dean:
- post hell!dean was not ready to talk about hell. sam would push and press dean about it then try to say oh ok talk about it when you’re ready but jk talk about it rn. it had to be on sam’s terms. dean wasn’t ready to talk about the things he endured and how it was effecting him.
- sam not wanting dean to be friends with benny and doing everything he could to push dean away from benny, particularly by playing on dean’s emotions and trying to pass it off as him being concerned for dean and putting emphasis on benny being a “monster”.
- Where they find a girl, her heart divided in two.
