All the cast is so good - there are several big stars in it and it's a large cast - I love ensemble movies

The music is on point and masterfully used - three piano notes during a conversation at the nightclub and I'm crying

The infamous trumpet of tears - I want to buy that one musician a drink, they're hitting that note that makes my eyes puddle themselves every single time and I have watched this movie 10 times or 15

The many little scenes with people sharing and having an experience together

Different generations of queer people in one movie - from 20 to 60+

Everyone on the cast doing their best to represent the real people they are portraying

And those whose roles were added for movie reasons did their best to play them as if they were real

My gosh Andrew Scott doing some of his best work

That young woman starting the song and then people join in and we end on a full choir and there are the trumpets again- can't even write about it without crying

I should also mention there are many funny scenes, like

also the crew did an incredible job

The details in decor, props, fashion and vehicles - you can feel how it's like to sit in Jonathan's van

I've seen so many people wear the same type of socks as Joe

I want to steal everyone's outfits

Joe's mom can't even walk quickly when she wants to because her shoes and clothes almost make her trip - she is made small and ineffective by the beauty standard

The contrast of the Welsh homes and the bookshop in terms of decor and interior

The camera work and editing are sublime, like that cut from Gethin in danger to Steph at Joe's doorstep, and I love a good montage

The development of the relationships - compare Martin and Sian in their first scene and then in their last

Martin walking out of the miners' march into Joe's arms without slowing down - what a change to their first encounter!

and the family ties - Cliff and Maureen and her sons and the grief that surrounds their interactions
