Something I can’t stop thinking about is Bible’s interview he did a couple weeks ago. The one he did completely in English where he talked about letting go.
He said his greatest goal in life was to be a father. Never mentioned a partner, sexuality or anything else. He said he wanted to be a father.
The fandom lost their shit, spewing absolute vitriolic hate. Here’s what I have to say to that:
You know nothing about his life other than what he shows on social media. You see 1% of what he does. He has never said he is queer or straight and you don’t get to assume if he is.
Since when has babies and marriage only been a heterosexual thing? By spewing all of this hate based on one sentence, all of you have confirmed exactly what queer people fear.
Queer people are nice and convenient when they fit in a box. When it’s a mere “sexy” or “hot” image of them being with someone. But once they no longer fit into that. When queer men or women (mostly queer men from this fandom) show they exist outside of sex, you all lose your minds.
If you hated what I said then, you’ll hate what I say now. If all you think about when you hear about queer men or actors or even when you think of Bible is sex or NC scenes, you are homophobic. You are fetishizing real people and taking away the beauty of the love they can share.
Only thinking of sex or talking about them in sexual contexts is homophobic just in a different way. I don’t consider any of you ally’s, I consider you unsafe.
Bible deserves to have a family. He deserves to fall in love and be allowed to love. Whether it’s a man or a woman or someone in between, it doesn’t matter. It isn’t your business and he doesn’t not deserve your support because your idea of him was “ruined”. Families are for gay people too. We fought extremely hard for those rights and people in Thailand are still fighting for those rights too.
Queer people are not your sexual fantasy.
QUEER PEOPLE ARE NOT YOUR SEXUAL FANTASY.
