Alfie Allen at London Film and Comic Con 2019
Were you expecting the ending that happened?
“I wasn’t expecting the ending that happened. I thought everyone would die but I do think the way that it ended was just great. And I’m not just saying that because I’m biased. I think HBO set out to do a fantasy show with steeped and familial relationships at the core of it and that’s what those final three episodes did, just round up those relationships and so whether they were done to people’s pleasing or not it’s just completely objective, you know?
About Theon’s death which death would you have preferred for him?
I think to be drowned would suit Theon very well and also apparently drowning is a very peaceful death. Sorry to be morbid.
But did you like the way Theon died?
“I mean I wouldn’t say… from a kind of an audience perspective it was incredible, but for me it was sad, you know. It was very, very sad to see the character go.”
Did you keep anything from set?
“I used to take candles from the set all the time for bath time but they were really bad candles with like three wigs so there would be black patches on the ceiling. But I also did take (and I haven’t said this before but fuck it) Sorry- my language! The pin that Theon had in his, ah pocket when he was on the pyre and if they ask it back, they ain’t getting it, hah!”
