‘Oisya, ty oisya’ by Moskovian Cossack Choir.
In the mountain a Cossack stood. He prayed to God,
For the freedom, for the people, he bowed very low.
Oysya*, you oysya, don't fear me,
I won't touch you, don't worry.
A big bazar, many Chechens.
A Russian girl is coming, give her a way.
Oysya, you oysya, don't fear me,
I won't touch you, don't worry.
Give me a big dagger, give me a finnish knife,
I will go to the Caucasus Mountains, and I will dance the lezginka* there.
Oysya, you oysya, don't fear me,
I won't touch you, don't worry.
Aren’t we cossacks? Aren’t we Terek Cossacks?
And a horse with an eager heart.
*Oisya is a cossack nickname for chechen and ingush people.
The Lezginka is the collective name originally given by Russians to all Caucasian dances.
