Oof, last week was crazy! I had to make up for the 8 lessons I missed (oops) bcs I was about to have an exam on friday for this subject. So here are photos from morning, afternoon and night that day! Guys, do what I say, not what I do 😁

My past self, in the sense of not wanting to let down that little girl;

Well, there would be a lot of them, but I’m not good with remembering things without context... BUT, I searched on my notes and found this:

I have no idea where it’s from but I agree 100% with it!

Oh, to watch netflix in bed, under the blankets, lights out, room locked, and eating brigadeiro* from a pot.

I’ve had my new blog for a couple months and I’ve been working on getting it started, but I figured it was time for a proper introduction! 

About Me 

My name is Lexie (she/her/hers pronouns)

I’m a third-year student at an Ivy League university in the United States

My majors are Astrophysics and English

I have been continuing to learn German to hopefully go abroad for graduate school

I am a first-generation college student and an LGBTQ+ individual who identifies as a lesbian or queer 

Interests

I’m a huge reader! I read literally anything and everything, but I mostly read YA fiction, science fiction, and fantasy. My favorite books are The Picture of Dorian Gray, A Song of Ice and Fire series, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and A Grain of Wheat

Writing has been what has kept me grounded throughout most of my life. I write a lot of science fiction and fantasy since that is what I prefer to read, but I also write realistic fiction, short stories, and nonfiction

I’m always listening to music! I listen to instrumental music and movie soundtracks the most because I find they don’t distract me from my work. I’ve also been getting into kpop the last few months 

I love traveling, even if I’ve only had a couple opportunities to go abroad

I watch a lot of movies and shows! My favorites shows are Sense8, Black Mirror, Game of Thrones, Merlin, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. I’ve also started to watch Yuri!!! On Ice, Haikyuu!!, and Mob Psycho with my friends. As for movies, I guess I’m a Marvel fan, but otherwise I watch a lot of documentaries and anything that is lgbtq+ on netflix 

Why I Made A Studyblr

I have been a part of the studyblr community for a few years through my side blog @lexiescollegeblog. However, I wasn’t very active and I felt like it was time for me to embrace a main blog that followed more of my own studies and interests 

I would love to connect with other first-generation and lgbtq+ college students that may share my experiences

I would like to become more motivated and focused to avoid procrastination and improve my overall health

My Posts 

Masterposts and Resources: I originally started my side blog with the intention of creating a blog that could be used as an archive for resources that may help me in college and I’ll continue to post similar content on my new blog. I’m going to make sure that I have an efficient tagging system to find resources when I need them

Notes: I’m planning to post my own physics, english, and german notes as I continue to make them for my courses 

Bullet Journal: I’ve started using a bullet journal the last few months to keep track of my habits + assignments and I really like it! I’m a rather simple person and therefore have a minimalist bullet journal style 

Advice: I’ve been asked by many students about how I navigated the college application process and chose a school. I would be open to giving advice and sharing my experiences with anyone who needs it

Everything Else: Since this is my personal blog as well as a studyblr, I will definitely be posting about art, traveling, books, movies, music, and shows that I enjoy!

10 Good Things That I Did For Myself This Weekend

Attended another fitness class on Friday

Talked to fourth year students about going to graduate school for physics

Set an alarm to wake up earlier on both Saturday and Sunday

Started listening to new songs that make me happy 

Actually went outside while the sun was still up

Spent time with friends by going to a movie and shopping

Drank a lot of water

Found time to read

Tried a few new foods 

Ten Good Things That I Did For Myself Today

Ate breakfast before going to work 

Styled my hair 

Texted my mom and dad 

Successfully processed data in a different server for the first time and continued to learn some python to analyze that data

Went to a fitness class for aerobics / dance

Talked to new people at the fitness class

Made dinner for tonight as well as lunch for tomorrow

Washed the stack of dishes that has been on my desk for over a week

Folded the basket of laundry that has been on my floor for three days

Talked to my advisor about my academic plan for the next two years

Woke up early by setting my alarm on the other side of the room

Reconnected with a friend that I hadn’t seen in a few months

Attended a new and intimidating fitness class

Made a nice dinner for myself with protein and veggies 

Ate breakfast before going to work this morning

Wrote 1,000 words for a fiction story

Recycled my old but gross water bottle, even though I loved it :(

Updated my journal and made a habit tracker for August 

18. What was one nice thing you did for someone else?i think my favourite things i’ve done for ppl this year were gifts, i got my dad a mug with my dog on it :))

19. What was one nice thing you did for yourself?started a proper skincare routine. makes me feel nice and calm and makes my skin better, big win

41. Did anything happen to you that you were sure wouldn’t change you as a person but it did?i guess coming to this new uni. it hasn’t exactly changed me, just made me go back to how i was a few years ago when i was in a similar situation. at least this time i know i can make it better.
