Levi wasn’t the most affectionate person, but he was starting to get worried.

For days now, Y/N hadn’t been very affectionate. Which was odd because she was the most affectionate in the entire Corps.

She loved to walk with him, hand in hand, or peck his cheek before they went their separate ways to train. Now, she just wasn’t the same.

He couldn’t help but wonder what he’d done wrong, maybe she’d fallen for someone else, or maybe she’d just stopped caring. Not only was it scary, it was confusing, he just couldn’t figure out why.

“Y/N, stop.” He caught her arm before they entered the Mess Hall, stopping her, “What’s going on?” He asked. 

She looked at him confused for a moment, “What do you mean?”

“You.” He answered, her brows furrowing, “You’re usually so... you love public displays of affection, have I done something?” He lowered his voice as someone walked past. 

Y/N smiled, shaking her head, “I thought it might be too much to you, are you telling me you miss it?”

“i’ll walk you home, brat.”

SEASON 4 WE READY

“Wanna fight?” Levi opened his eyes, he’d been trying to rest for the past half an hour and this damn girl was determined to test her might. “Come on, Levi, I promise I wont hurt you.” She teased, poking his cheek, he rolled his eyes with a sigh. “If I fight you, will you let me rest for five minutes?” It was a gorgeous day and he was enjoying laying on a blanket in the fields, the shade of a nearby tree moving in the breeze. It was rare he got time off like this, never mind a moment of peace. “I promise.”

It was no secret to the scouts that Y/N and Levi had a very special bond.

Ever since they had met when Levi joined years ago, Y/N and Levi had been close. Introduced by Isobel to the group, the pair had shared the same pain at the loss of Levi’s counterparts.

She was the only one who could actively tease the Captain. 

“Knock knock.” She walked into his office, closing the door with her foot, “I heard you’ve been working all day and need a distraction.” 

“I’ve had plenty of those in the form of Eren and Jean.” Levi answered, glancing up as she perched on the edge of the desk. He would ignore her this time.

But as hard as he tried, Y/N knew he’d cave eventually. 

The tension between the two was undeniable, even Levi had to admit it. He’d loved her ever since she stayed with him that night on the roof after he lost Isobel and Farlan. She was the only person that dared. 

“Come on Levi, you know you want to take a break.” She scooted along the desk until she was wedged between the man and his work. “I was thinking tea or maybe even something else.” She joked, she knew he would never have feelings for her back. If he did, she was sure he’d have acted on them now.

Levi gave her a deadpan expression despite the blood running into his face, Y/N leaned in, catching Levi off guard.

For a moment, the world stopped, they were so close to one another, if Levi had the guts he’d just pull her in, funny how I don’t fear titans but I fear overstepping with a woman. 

Instead, he spoke, “I have work to do.” 

He didn’t even realize until Y/N pulled back that he’d said that, she sighed and began to walk away. She never gave up, why today?

“Wait.” He started to follow her to the door, he couldn’t take the funny feeling in his stomach any more and if she stopped trying now, what’s to say she would ever try again, he couldn’t lose her, not in the slightest.

“You know, you don’t do yourself any favors.” She turned to him, “You’re human, not machine.”

Levi hadn’t thought as far ahead as he was now, he stumbled over words to say, starting sentences and then stopping, what was he trying to say?

“Stop mumbling.”

He continued, he didn’t know how to stop, it was like she had some power over him.

In that moment the world stopped, his mind ceased, his lips were on hers. She’d kissed him. The contact of her skin left his sparking like a newly transformed titan. She pulled back.
