For once in a very long time, there was no rush of adrenaline and excitement, and instead, Ten was anxious. Fully afraid. Fourteen didn't seem to pace after him in the way a small dog would follow, there was no exuberance and intrusion in their actions. They simply pattered over from behind, fidgeting, quiet alongside grunts and huffs of air, not even a flash of a tooth or a glimpse from their eyes. And Ten almost resented this, resented the change.

This wasn't something he was used to. Sneakiness, obviously, Fourteen was definitely a very sly number and yet so unbelievably obnoxious, but this was undoubtedly forward. Ten wasn't even slightly sure what to do, to offer his patchworked arm or ask what was wrong. Fourteen simply... Tagged along, rather than following or trailing behind.

That is, until, a rose with a crumpled stem is taken out when Fourteen drags him beneath a tree. Ten is backed against it, sitting, and fourteen is on their knees between his open-legged sit. They place it in Tens hands and takes out an amount of battery operated candles that shouldn't be possible, because Fourteen has no pockets or anywhere on their person to keep it, and yet they are sprinkled prettily around Ten.

"" I did this for you, "" they say, voice wobbily, and yet it was finally the cadence that Ten recognizes. Gravelly, almost an exasperated desperation to their voice, hungry and yet —

Shy. Trying to be confident, but shy.

"" I've seen movies, I think they're gauche, "" as a flush deepens on their numbers, hands petting Tens orange integers adoringly, "" do you want to be savoured, too? ""

It comes out more excited and jagged than a sultry and suave algebralien would ever say, and Fourteen was awkward, and smelled so fragantly of flesh and musty clothing.

And yet, Ten was shaking with a limp rose in his hands, eyes locked onto the one he was unsure to call a lover. But if there was anything, they looked like one.

So much effort just for a dinner. Just for the main course.

Oh, algebra, it was a date.

Today I tried something a little different while editing a few Photos left over from the Corbett Site last week… I had a few Photos that didn't turn out QUITE well enough to use (as normal), but not NOT well enough to TOSS; SO… THIS is what I designed, layering them with Photos of the SAME Subject that DID turn out well enough for use— What do you think?! These Photos were taken on October 17, 2025 at JW Corbett Wildlife Management Area in West Palm Beach, FL with a Canon EOS 20D Camera (and additional Lenses) on the Sports/Action Setting!
