I don’t understand how a binary trans man can identify as a lesbian, the whole point of the lesbian label is that it’s exclusive to women and non-men. I feel like it contributes to the stigma that trans men aren’t ‘real’ men, I’ve seen TERFs supporting the term because they believe that lesbians transition to ‘escape’ the lesbian label? It does feel like people are attempting to water down the lesbian label and I don’t see people doing this anywhere near as frequently with other identities.

That being said gender identity is very complex and individual, and trans men are worthy of respect regardless of how they choose to label their sexuality. Trans men do some of the same problems as lesbians in terms of marriage equality, criminalisation, being treated with basic respect especially in a society that doesn’t view trans men as men.

This is lesbiphobia, exorsexism and transphobia.

I also experienced this when I still identified as non binary, it frustrates me so much that people see the non binary label almost as it’s own ‘third gender’ and not a gender identity that doesn’t fit into the gender binary.

It was like…I’m not a man, if I was dating a woman it wouldn’t be a straight relationship, what was the problem with me using the term nonbinary lesbian? 🙄

lesbians did so much for the queer community just to be treated like this from not just straight people but also their community where they’re supposed to be loved and seen

anyways yeah fuck everyone who looks down upon wlw shows, movies, and books

and yes this is a diss at every gay show that’s skyrocketed while every lesbian show gets canceled
