āNo offense, but I canāt figure out how you can stand working on a train,ā Patrick said with a sigh as he took his flash out of the inside pocket of his jacket, took a sip, then held it out in Leonaās direction.Ā
He wasnāt really being fair to her. There wasnāt anything wrong with a job that involved trains or anything like that, he was just touchy about it considering the time his dad spent working on the tracks and he held an odd mix of respect for people that did that work and disdain for the idea of doing it himself. It symbolized something to him that Patrick didnāt always care for, no reason to take that out on Leona.
āIām being an asshole tonight,ā He drawled, letting his head lull to one side so he could look at Leonaās face better.Ā āIām sorry about that. Give me something better to complain about, wonāt you? What bad news have you heard lately?ā @leonapodmoreā
