i love art of astarion covered in blood and i love how larian always shows him with a lil blood on his face - yes give me my vampire doused in the stuff!!! - but i actually think astarion would be a very neat eater canonically. partly because he's got this Very Proper Persona going on (or an "elegant bearing" as a certain warlock once said, dreamily) and partly because like... that's his food! and he has hardly had any this whole time; he's not about to waste that shit for the vampiric aesthetic 😭

as an only child, sibling relationships are so fascinating to me but I of course have no experience with them - I think part of why I enjoy writing about the Szarr family so much is that they're siblings sort of but also not really, so if I get the sibling relationships wrong it's okay lolol
why do I feel legitimately kind of anxious about the Astarion novel coming out... like part of me is excited but part of me would rather not have more canon about his past so I could leave it up to my own HCs.
I realize I can do that anyway, but I prefer coming up with HCs to fill in lore gaps rather than to replace/ignore details that we do get, and I feel like a lot of my HCs are gonna get blown up!
