So Charlie walks in today and says his pitching coach thinks he’s throwing five miles an hour harder already. Yes it’s anecdotal.......well not even, it’s just talk. At this point I’ll take it. It’s something to build on. Today we crushed Charlie’s legs, his drive leg to be specific. We broke out an old school ab drill. We used to call this THE AB WHEEL OF DEATH 💀 during spring training. Man, this is becoming as brutal and as arduous as I've read about. But I'm finished with Month 2 of Reg Park's 5x5 as of last night; and I remain committed to tackling month 3 starting tomorrow! Notes: as of last night I finally had to bring back the #foreverbelt as my #core isn't necessary accustomed to handling certain numbers right now. I discovered that placing my heels on two 25lb plates helps boost my #legdrive on the bench. Also, I had to up my #legionpulse intake back to two scoops at 700mgs because this is a lot of work! Well damn. My first 410 pounder. Never thought I'd make it this far, let alone donut with relative ease! Training after getting over a sinus headache is not cool. Happens to me around this time. All the time. But I made no excuses and, while this workout took a little longer than it should've thanks to it, I still got it done. I talk from time to time about the importance of #legdrive in #compoundmovements and today was proof that it helps. If it wasn't for me SQUEEZING the life out of my #glutes and #quads I don't think I would hit that last rep on this 110lb #overheadpress. First time on a LONG time that I hit three reps! This ended with #20repsquats at 185lbs. It wasn't easy, but it's not supposed to be. It's a very brutal exercise, but that exactly why it's so effective.
